ipad jailbreak?, stuck in ios 12.5

My mom din use her ipad mini 2 , been keeping in the drawer for few years.
I take over now. But stuck in ios 12.5. I used ipad to read pdf file most of the time. The okd version of the book app seem less in few function i want. Go to app store while most fo the app need ios 13 and above. Shall i jailbreak and upgrade it to ios 13 or higher? Will ipad become a brick? |
