QUOTE(aLittleMisfit @ Oct 3 2025, 11:04 AM) i'm not sure of the system, probably most are ok. however please note that i heard a lot of feedback from building contractors, these solar so called "installers" are mostly inept in roofing works. and they go a shitty job most of the times due to taking easy way out. if they are drilling to your metal roof, better buy better screws as they give u those that cause rusting due to galvanic corrosion and some lagi funny they placed on roof slabs using paver blocks as weight to press down the panel, and not suprising it blew away due to strong wind And if they are unlucky, meet a fussy customer that go up the roof to check after installation is completed, sure rugi kaw2.

QUOTE(aLittleMisfit @ Oct 3 2025, 01:07 PM) yeah, they "assume" their subcon installer are good, and client dont go up to see. and after the client asked if happen again how? they can ask the client buy insurance for it. My friend hold on to his balance until SA give up asked him direct contact management, then finally after 5 months+ one manager paid him a visit & arranged to do proper roofing until he is satisfied. Confirmed loose $$$.

QUOTE(bee88 @ Oct 17 2025, 08:10 PM) But one thing about the saving under this / atap is not fixed or predictable like nem. Just need to be aware of that. Overall the saving would be okay. All 3 options is with Storage, especially 1 & 2 with 32kW so be very similar to NEM provided if can cover the nightime usage.

QUOTE(lurkingaround @ Oct 17 2025, 09:50 PM) . Most houseowners in Malaysia use most electricity at night, eg, cook dinner, wash clothes, watch TV, play computer, sleep in aircon rooms, charge EV car overnight, etc. 12kWp system = produces 1,200kWh per month = 40kWh per day but BESS/battery can only store 32kWh during daytime = about 6-7kWh would be exported to TNB during the day at RM0.21 per kWh under ATAP. So, ROI is about 86 months or 7 years, not 75 months/6 years. Worth it.? . I don't know where you get your figures from? This Deye 10kW can produce average 40kw+ per day so if really 12kW inverter can easily produced 50kW+. Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(ahkit123 @ Oct 18 2025, 07:41 AM) can add new plan on the existing plan? If NEM officially not unless they relax the rules when announcing the actual ATAP details. But if you Selco off grid it's a very gray area. Yesterday was talking to those Seda staff @klcc igem & they say for Selco it's ST that's handling it not them. QUOTE(bee88 @ Oct 18 2025, 10:58 AM) Stick to existing plan better. Less headache and less uncertainty. What happens to your magic? Last 2 months TNB new tariif, your bill how much damaged? QUOTE(yeapsc73 @ Oct 28 2025, 06:40 PM) ROI around 6 years Hybrid inverter size? QUOTE(MGM @ Oct 28 2025, 06:27 PM) Can only hope battery tech improves leap and bound n price reduces fast. Battery cell price already gone up 10% in China but I think local complete unit price will be absolved by importers so don't expect it to go down much. QUOTE(lurkingaround @ Nov 8 2025, 02:49 PM) . Fyi, ....... https://www.gbnews.com/politics/ed-miliband...fety-fears-fire - Ed Miliband’s solar panel drive sparks safety fears amid spate of rooftop fires - 31 Oct 2025 Safety concerns have been raised over Energy Secretary Ed Miliband’s plans to install solar panels across millions more British homes after a surge in house fires caused by the energy solution or their batteries.
According to data gathered by insurance company QBE, fire services were called out roughly every two days last year to incidents involving a solar panel.
The company found this marked a 60 per cent increase in the past two years. ... https://archive.li/Hm9B7 = same news from The Telegraph (paywalled). That's about 180 rooftop solar fire incidents per year out of 1.6 million in the UK in 2024. . Have you installed solar in your house? You seems to be evading this question.

QUOTE(nyunyu @ Nov 30 2025, 01:51 PM) Verdant just quoted me RM45.680 after RM11415 rebate) for 10.54 kWp Fox Hybrid + 6 kWh BESS. Is this good deal? I presumed is single phase? Inverter 8kW? Panel is what spec? 6kwh battery looks miserable unless your TNB night time usage is very low.

QUOTE(Cavino @ Dec 4 2025, 04:14 PM) I think he is in the upper limit of generation. His area must have excellent exposure to sunlight WITH excellent panel placement AND direction, etc. Mine 10.6Kwh with limit roof space. They calculate RM600 to 700. I think I got average 1200kwh per month. Based on real life usage. It generate about RM500++ each month on average. My 1 panel got shadow and most of panels are facing west. Few facing south and 1 set facing north. So really not optimum placement. So unless you have excellent solar panel placement and exposure, on average you better calculate as anywhere between RM500 to 600++. Don't over expect it unless the installer say your roof placement for all your panels are in EXCELLENT position to maximized generation. Micro inverter?
