hi,
any experienced electricians here?
can i wire a hybrid solar inverter directly to the main db(instead of a sub db) to supply the entire house? of course, going through a ATS. can this be done?
*
Yes, can be done but how far away is your inverter to the main DB & what's your highest total load at one time? Battery capacity?

Where you get the idea of crazy new tariff? In facts it is just the offsetting mechanisms not as favorable to NEM users compared with last time.

Per kwh costs are actually lower for most domestic users
*
For those on NEM if import is more than export is badly affected.

Calculation from TNB website

Non-NEM

[B]Consumption - 200kWh

Pre July 2025

Bill - RM 39.60

Post July 2025

Bill - RM 38.86

For NEM

Import 400kWh, Export 200kWh. Net usage 200kWh

Pre July 2025

Bill - RM 37.66

Post July 2025

Bill - RM 56.62

Definitely for some NEM user there will be a significant price increase

Actually it's a bad time to get now. Wait for the next NEM announcement. If u install now, u will be limited to BESS systems only.
*
Even current NEM 3.0 already complaining about the new tariff doubt the new plan will be any better unless they give end user a rebate for installing battery!😜

For micro, Replacement is one to one..  they don’t and unable to open and check if water or not.  From what I know, Hoymiles straight give debit note for new inverter to supplier unlike string inverter. So as long the companies still around, should be okay de.

Does Pathgreen replaced the micro up on the roof with skylift service included for 10 years, no labour or any other charges? brows.gif

So far okay la. Haven’t over the warranty period yet for me.  But Their price is reasonable for the labour anyway for year 6 onwards. Just few hundred and can have coverage for another year with unlimited service request.
*
Oh, 6th year onwards chargeable? If need used skylift habis lo brows.gif

Hi guys, I’m going to take my house keys soon for my newly bought house. I’m planning to install solar panel as I’m buying EV soon.

Can I know how can I get started? Where to learn all the info?
*
Best for you to use for at least 2 months to see how's the overall usage before jumping into the solar band wagon but meanwhile no harm getting some quotations first.

Yes. I am very sus with what their are doing ever since I uncovered that they could have made us pay for the network charge and capacity charge.

But tou or not, it’s just difference by a bit. The rule of thumb is if your import - export is 1000kwh, the tou saving is rm26 vs non tou. And if u manage to reduce to 500kwh difference , then the saving is only rm13. Since my case the difference is only 100kwh units, the saving if I switch to tou is only less than rm5.
*
So can do some magic to make the 100kW disappear! brows.gif

CCA for solar is not Copper Cladded Aluminium! Helukabel is DCA. My house also used 4mm Hellukabel but if I know then would rather used 6mm Kuka CCA. From low to high fire resistance DCA, CCA, B2CA & B1CA.

Oh. Yes. Hellukabel that I use is this grade.

Flammability class: Dca
Smoke emission class: s2
Drip particle class: d2

Why only 4mm instead of 6mm the usual size?
*
Normal installation mostly is 4mm 1 year ago or even now many vendors are still using DCA 4mm but since price difference not much better to used 6mm.

If what they proposed is correct, buy HIGH sell LOW. ROI almost double that of NEM. Might as well go SELCO with battery for those that can afford it, faster ROI but upfront cost higher.
