for a tropical sun drenched country like us...
solar power generation should be made available to all (with a roof/space) irrespective to how much the current household TNB bill is

current target group are those with bills amounting to above rm500
where got fair
suruhanjaya tenaga pon lg satu.......make it such that those however small be able to save laa a lil - the concept of saving is important

It is available for all. Who said it is not available below rm500. you just need to pay.

You want tongkat for installing solar?

Why do you think buatkan yang kaya jadi la kaya when they have to put in tens of thousands of ringgit to make electricity cheaper.

I asked one of the companies why not use three phase inverter and they said that that can form three phase connection using single-phase microinverter.

Anyone knows if this a viable substitute as opposed to just straight up install three phase inverters?

For context this is for a >9Kwh system
*
why not , they just need to split the microinverters into 3 phases.

The only problem is that they cannot balance it perfectly into 3 phases.

Only believe it when it release. Why you believe such claims?
In 2014 claim to find a holy grail battery with 400% increase in capacity. Until now can’t even double the capacity.

my inverter has max DC voltage input at 1,100V. from the historical graph below can confirm total voltage never reach that much

but if looking at DC current input, looks like it does exceed the inverter max DC current input limit at 11A by ±2A.

this might be the culprit for the power drop? or it just purely due to the clouds?
*
clouds, it is quite normal to have drops.

question, are you able to add more panels later on without changing the inverter? Since the max power output is the same , do you need to declare to SEDA?

Also can you "renew" the NEM contract if you were to add panels?

Has anyone done any "topup" panels before ?
Currently using normal inverter for rooftop but thinking of putting additional 4 panels with microinverter on carporch awning instead.
Has anyone done this before, small scale top up?

Not really, better get your vendor to checked the cabling & sub DB. By the way for those of you using micro, I would like to share this news. It could be an isolated case though. My friends micro installed with PG in 2023 started giving issues, last month 1 unit dead & was replaced & last week another unit too. Lucky for PG my friend unit was installed on his balcony instead of underneath the panel on the roof. Otherwise need pay 2X skylift charges.

What do you call an offgrid system that directly uses Solar Power to 240V and if the load exceeds the solar power , it will take the additional power from the grid without any battery/or small battery involved.

Isn't that's how our nem system currently works?

No the inverter can only accept power cannot export

once your inverter connect to grid, it is no longer call offgrid! period.
*
No off grid means you do not provide power to the grid , you can still accept power from the grid just like any appliances.

Off grid inverter means it won't export but still can be supplemented by grid but ideally due to our cloudy skies best to have a battery when solar power is low to prevent your inverter from frequently switching between grid & solar.
*
That is the thing instead is of using battery to supplement the power , I don’t see why the grid cannot replace the battery in supplementing the power. There will be no export of course.

Anyone here has 2 system from 2 different provider?

My current solar provider not responsive, thinking of asking a 2nd provider.
