Look at the Prius specs overseas. The only way UMW can give it a competitive price is to make it CKD and remove many of the extras, like the current CKD Cross Hybrid. If they bring in Japan assembled AWD top-spec model (loke the Prime version in western markets), will likely be approaching RM300k. At that price, you’re asking a HEV/PHEV like the Prius to compete against a full BEV like the Tesla Model 3/Y already.

Look at the Harrier. Toyota don’t want to compromise its quality and only assemble it in Japan, but as a result UMW don’t want to bring in the 2.5L AWD version because the pricing will be too close to the Lexus NX series, so we only get the 2.0L FWD version.
