Does the aircon temperature affect electricity consumption? How much electricity do I save by setting the home air conditioner temperature one degree Celsius higher? Let say from 23 degree to 24 degree. How many percent can save from electricity bill for each degree higher?  3 to 5 % cut?

Heard that running at 24 degrees, the compressor will work for much less time, leading to less power consumption. Once the desired temperature is reached, the compressor stops functioning, and only the AC fan works. The compressor restarts once the thermostat detects increase in temperature. Is that true? Is there any facts or data research on this?

Air cond is to give comfort according to own set temperature.

If one were to set temperature to reduce energy and suffers discomfort, I suggest use the ceiling fan.

No, it is very different. AC at higher temp does give comfort since it reduce humidity in the space that it is cooling. Ceiling fan when it is right below the roof sucks because it just blew whatever hot air trapped in the ceiling. Ceiling fan works for condo and double storey (or higher) because the concrete ceiling do not trap hot air and the hot air will find its way onto upper floors.

I like my temp at 23. I cannot have a good sleep if is others. Only in extreme prolong hot weather, I will reduce 1 degree.

BTW, ceiling fan is just an example in the reply. Stand fan is also an option depending on own preference.
