It’s more accurate as the kids age are right according to the books but they made a character black which does not make sense at all.

I think this one got the approval from the author while the previous one actually diverted from the source material a lot. The author is the executive producer of this series but he was not consulted for the old movies. The age of the kids and the storyline were wrong in the old movies. The big issue in this adaptation is only they change the race of girl.

Not really. Another adaptation of the books which is a closer to the book version instead of the movie which diverted a lot from the books

i see. i didn't read the books so my bad.

to me, the old movies (well, the 1st one at least) were entertaining enough to me so i wasn't bothered with the finer details.

if they have the consent from the book author to modify some details, the i suppose it should work...? well, One Piece worked, though i also dun watch that...

The author is Co-producer of the series and even wrote a few episodes. He hated the movies as he was not consulted at all.

The books are like Harry Potter and Percy was supposed to be 12 at the beginning of the story and by the end he is around 16 or 17.

I'm not touching anything Disney with a 10-foot trident.
