Its not new. Its has been available but Facebook did not promoted it. It went in silently.

No, you can't. Its like twitter lol, either you make it private(at twitter, at fb is to close this feature) or its open to public.

I'll post a simple howto here(as most likely someone will come and ask how to disable it later on):

Howto: Disable Subscriptions
1. Go to your profile.
2. Click Subscribers.
3. Click Edit Settings.
4. Click the button beside the Subscribers and click Off.

Done.

That one should block ur friend from seeing that post d ah
Anyway, new method(AngryFacebook Mode )

Anyway, Facebook introduced a new list called restricted list where you can add your friend into this list and they can only see posts that you made public(setting).

Howto: Add friends into restricted lists and block them without them knowing:
1. Click the Account at the upper right hand side of your page.
2. Click Privacy Settings.
3. Click Manage Blocking at the bottom of the page.
4. Click the Edit list beside the "When you add friends to your Restricted list............you add them to your Restricted list.".
5. Click the On this list at the upper left hand side of the box appeared.
6. Find your friend by typing his/her Facebook username at the search box and click his/her picture when the search has ended.
7. Click Done.
8. Really Done.

I see you open tered then haxfactor answered your question and you closed the thread, so I thought problem solved . Anyway, experimenting as I don't play much with my page.

I don't think its possible, because long time ago you can customise your page with fbml, but now I don't see it. And I don't see any settings where you can add Facebook apps(if this is possible then you may be able to do what you wanted) into it as well.

If Facebook let you do what you said, then the people will say: "Facebook is violating my privacy, mesti mau like baru boleh tengok ka? x like x boleh ka? "

But since Facebook has decided to go with the community, so you don't have any choice

Actually using group for an alumni society is better though. When you update something people will be notified about it while if you use page then people will not be notified about it unless he/she looks at the page.

If they only like it for fun because they are the alumni's, they wont care much about any activity in it and if it keep spam their wall, they will hide it totally . Same applies to group but I still think group is better in a way or two
I have more experience on group management than page management(I got 3 groups but only 1 page)

No la, maybe you didn't create any list coz my old list is still there.

Howto: Create a new List
1. Click the MORE beside the LISTS word.
2. Click Create a list at the upper part of the page.
3. Type the list name at the textbox given.
4. Click Create list.



Yup, because when your friend post at your wall, the privacy will be set based on your privacy settings. If your friend tagged you in his/her post, then the privacy setting used is his/her privacy setting.

FINALLY . Not quite confusing if you had been playing around with multiple facebook accounts

That's why have to use multiple accounts, most likely not all accounts will be changed at once so you can know what has changed


Howto: Set Privacy settings on Photo Album
1. Click Profile
2. Click Photos
3. Click Photos beside the See all word
4. Click at the human head icon beside each album to edit its privacy setting

Optional: If you want to make it private(only to you yourself), follow these steps(it continues from the previous steps):
5. Click Custom
6. Click the button beside the These people or lists
7. Click Only me.
