I feel ya bro! That’s the single one thing that I hate the most….
*
Ya, exactly. And Maybank making you go to the ATM to update your new Secure TAC device is just ridiculous... doh.gif

not bad. my IP15 can only last a day .
*
Yup, that's about all it will do for the regular user considering the relatively small-sh battery. Only if you are a super light user will it go beyond a day.

I can't see how the 15 or 15 Plus would still be a good buy now that we know it won't have access to Apple Intelligence? I mean I'm sure we'll keep these phones around for 3 or 5 years or more, and at some point AI is gonna be widely adopted in that time frame and 15 and 15 Plus owners would be missing out, no?

I would think that any purchase now is not recommended. Wait for iPhone 16 and see what the AI final spec requirement will be. After watching the recent WWDC, their AI is actually not ready. It is just a concept and some functions will have to be implemented later into 2025.

It is sad because my months old iPhone 15 plus is not eligible for this new AI.  But that is Apple. They don't give extra hardware headroom. It is always about maximising profit.  When I look at Samsung camp, their years old galaxy devices are getting AI treatment.

My only advice now: DON’T BUY CURRENT iPhones.  Just wait for iPhone 16 . biggrin.gif

Ya, my point exactly. I think the 15 and 15 Plus is a hard sell now, given how it's public knowledge that it'll miss out on the AI features. Apple certainly did 15 and 15 Plus owners some injustice there. I was considering getting a 15 for my kid (who has outgrown his 12 Mini) but think I will wait for the 16 now - coz I want him to use the phone for at least 5 years..

I'm a 15 Plus user. At this point I probably won't care about missing out of the AI race as long as apps like Chat GPT can run on this phone. There is nothing so significant that it would affect the way I use my phone without the AI.
*
I understand this completely, but I just think it'd be nice to have all the features available including AI when the phone commands a premium pricing. Especially considering most iPhone users use their phone for a number of years.

You got a point there, consider even the S23 from last year can still get AI.
But granted the discount, have to just swallow it. I  also change after 5-6 years of usage.

I think if you already have it, it’s fine. The 15 and 15 Plus are both good phones in their own right, it’s just that it’s hard to recommend anyone to buy a new one now knowing full well it will miss out on what will likely be a definitive feature in the near future.

iPhone 15 will go down in history as the "CURRENT" phone that lacks a future...... vmad.gif

The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus run on the old A16 iPhone 14Pro chip…. It was already obsolete in terms of processor and processing power the minute it hit the market.
*
Ya, that’s exactly it, it launched with Apple’s 2022 chipset in the fall of 2023, but back then everyone didn’t mind because the A Bionic chips were so ahead of the game last year’s chipset performances matched this year’s competition. No one saw it coming that Apple would exclude it from one part of OS updates in the future..

That’s how they justify us getting the newest models…

Correction bro, that’s how they justify us getting the more expensive new models! laugh.gif

Ah yes, of course. And we the iSheep happily fall into their marketing trap over and over again hahaha.

Hahaha, don’t remind me… when they launch the Apple Watch I went around telling everyone my G-Shock much better, only need to change batteries once in two years, and now I only wear my Watch Ultra - got 3 G-Shock watches tucked in some drawer somewhere.. when they launch the Apple Pencil I went who on earth buys a glorified stylus for more than RM 400 and then I went and got the Pencil 2… The list goes on… sigh…

wta can all the AI intelligence thing that the new iPhone 16 series be able to do, can all those features be done on a M1 MacBook Air too or there are AI features that can only be used on the iPhone 16???
*
If I'm not mistaken AI would work on M1 or later on iPads and Macs and on the iPhone 15 Pro or later. Just curious to see if they'll reserve it for the 16 Pro and not put it on the 16 like they did the 15...

if I can use all the AI features on my m1 air then I think I shall just get the 15 plus on the next discounted sale. I want to be able to play around with these latest AI features but I am not willing to spend rm4k - rm5k for a phone...
*
You should be able to get a 15 Pro for around 3.7k or 3.8k come 9.9? That might be a better for future proofing.

QUOTE(xHj09 @ Sep 4 2024, 10:06 PM)
anyone got issue with keyboard?

somehow my wife's device always have keyboard issue. cannot type at all after using apple one plan. had to restart multiple times to get it work everytime it happens. subscribed around 1-2 months already.
*
Are you referring to a physical keyboard or the virtual one? Should be nothing to do with your Apple One subscription I think.
