Wow, I've just finished it, and I've gotta say I absolutely love the ending. And I couldn't even explain why its good. The only thing I realized is that I teared when Reki said "Rakka, tasukete" and I don't even know why. Again, bittersweet ending but I love it. This has just become one of my most favourite anime.

Ok, I am looking for more shows like this now, any recommendations? Initially I find it similar to Aria, but after finishing it, I definitely don't think so. The only similarity is probably the pace.

Sry for quoting myself =p But yea,it's really hard to find an anime similar to Haibane Renmei. I'm sure there're anime with similar elements/traits/etc to HR,but the feel isn't the same.

Edit : I've seen some trying to find similar titles by recommending Serial Experiments Lain (which I personally think: lol,how can the 2 be compared -.-),NieA_7 (which I've heard is the light hearted counterpart to the heavy n dark Lain) and even Noir

Noir is NOTHING compare to Haibane Renmei, at all.....
