Hm, started the show a few days ago, up to episode 6. Very nice so far (awesomeness begin to surface after ep5...). Haven't finished yet, but somehow it gives a feeling similar to Aria, a feeling for liking the show, but unable to explain why...

No spoilers if possible (hide it with spoiler tags), anyone watched the show?

I've read the manga. It has no storyline whatsoever really, just goes with the flow

I read a little about Haibane on the wiki, and realized it started as a doujin manga but was never finished. But yea I didn't dare to read any further cuz there are spoilers in the article.

There is nothing that you don't already know actually as the manga has no story. Only the animu does. Kinda funny reading the manga tho where the mangaka doodles around and put up random information about the characthers and why he designed them that way

watched n read before. kinda like it. n the anime does follow bit by bit of the manga like how it started, n character story, Reki's which exactly the same with the manga, just that the manga placement is weird to be comic. i think it as release like doujin-like stuff.

barely remember nething, watched it long time ago.

haibane renmei is really slow pace anime. it can boring is certain part (most probably). just ask urself if u enjoy those type of anime, if do, go ahead, if dun, dun put ur expectation too high then. neone who watch Niea_7 b4, if u hate it, then u wouldnt enjoy this one too.

I'd say it's quite nice, but not something that everyone loves. Doesn't remember much as I watched it few years ago.

I love the OP.....Freebird. wink.gif

Really nice slice of life show....in a melancholic after-life kinda way.

One of Abe's better anime. The doujinshi is just his prototype work, not to be considered an official Haibane Renmei media.

I'd probably like it more if their origin and where they go is all revealed in the anime.

One of the best anime, it is in my top 20 anime of all time list. I would recommend this anime to anyone who liked good anime, refined ones that is.

If you miss it, well, you lose a lot.

Yea I also agree it won't be something that everyone likes. Time to watch more and see how it feels. Just realized Rakka's seiyuu is Alice's (Aria).

Free Bird is indeed awesome, Ootani Kou ftw, although I didn't like his Shana composing that much.

Yea,it really depends. imo it was a pretty darn good anime. It does have quite alot of symbolism and erm,"thoughts" (philosophy sounds too big of a word) Also a rather unique anime,I think. Kinda hard to think of a similar anime to recommend should u like this one.

Things to note for potential viewers are that :-
1.There's no action. It's a drama, don't expect kaboom and what nots.
2.Alot of talking scenes.
3.Slow paced (I'd like to think of it as "well paced" but u get the idea)

Not saying these stuff in a negative manner (remember,i think the anime is good) but just pointing out stuff that might deter certain viewers.
