Fyi, .......

https://animoto.com/blog/news/hd-video-creation-sharing - Video Resolution 101: A Beginners Guide - 23 March 2018
.... 360P
Videos at 360p are well-suited to smartphones and other mobile devices since they use up less data, but may appear a bit blurry on larger screens. ...

480P
DVDs clock in at 480p, so if you’re looking to burn a DVD, this resolution will give your disc the highest quality allowed by any DVD burner or disc. A 480p video will also play well on most laptop and desktop monitors, and smaller TVs.

NOTE: If you’re looking for higher resolution disc, you will need a Blu-ray disc and Blu-ray burner.

720P
True high-definition starts at 720p, and this is the image resolution at which many HD television channels broadcast. An HD 720p Animoto video is crisp, sharp, and looks great on most displays.

1080P
For an even higher resolution, you can download your videos at 1080p, another favorite for HD television stations. We recommend this resolution for sharing on social media or for showing videos on larger screens and TVs, since it’ll give your audience the highest possible quality display, with crystal clear playback.  ...

Nowadays minimum for me is 1080p. 720p also blurry rubbish especially with YouTube compression. 360p might as well just listen audio don't watch.

Fyi, not much has changed from 2018 to 2021 or 2023, wrt 360p suiting mobile devices/smartphones, even though most smartphone screens today are 720p or 1080p. .......

https://blog.ventunotech.com/2021/02/video-resolution-guide/ - 2021/02/ - video-resolution-guide
....
360p
Suited for mobile devices for users whose internet is decent but not too fast. The video quality is better than what you will get in 240p. We don’t recommend 360p on laptops and Smart TVs as the quality will suffer. Use 360p when you want to save bandwidth costs.

480p
We suggest 480p for mobile devices if most of your users have a good internet connection.

720p
This is the beginning level of HD resolution, known as the standard HD and HD ready. 720p is best suited for laptops and PCs with a decent internet connection.

1080p
This is probably the most commonly used resolution in smartphones nowadays. 1080p is also known as Full HD and represents a higher quality and sharpness than the standard HD. It is best suited for laptops, PCs, and Smart TVs with a good internet connection. ...

5G the same for all telcos. All under DNB.

You are only paying extra for digi/celcom/maxis 's 4G coverage.

no...

i dont think so.

2 person. 2 telco
test 5G same place, will get different speed.

5G Tower only a factor in final actual speed you get.
there are MANY other Factor.

My personal opinion...give so much data like my package last time also useless. Either full signal but speed so low or low signal thus low speed. Imagine 4g speed still 100-500kB/s. Switched to Digi can rasa 1MB/s and above but that is few years ago punya cerita

This one is likely because of 4G network traffic congestion due to many active users during peak traffic hours, ie full signal but speed so low. A few years ago, the Postpaid DIGI Infinite 150 plan was very popular.
....... In due time, the same traffic congestion problem will afflict the 5G network. So, enjoy your 500Mbps 5G speeds while you still can.

u mobile already has very weak 4G
you want try their 5G??
any, any person who Understand how 5G works.
WOULD NEVER go for 5G mobile.

unless for following reason :
1) u only use 5G on a static location, and you already tested its performance.

Reason for not using 5G :
1) 5G is the weakest Mobile Signal of ALL generation. High Bandwith but WEAKEST Signal Strength

The Myth behind Speed :
1) The Server/IPX bandwidth.
( CHECK Sungai Besi Toll, 10 lane into 4 lane ) Jam mah??
10 lane = 5G Connection
4 lane = Actual Server Resource to process data request
Why i dont go 5G
1) i stay inside building most of the time. Even inside building, Umobile 4G is very weak..... not to mention 5G lah...

Fyi, watching Youtube videos at 360p on my 6" smartphone is quite clear. To me, watching the same at 720p is a waste of bandwidth, data and battery power.

Here we go again with IT genius ifourtos.

Oi dumdum, 5G in Malaysia all by DNB la, doesn't matter Umobile or Celcom or Digi. All same la.
And signal strength is up to where TS stay la, you stay in TS house or office ka? Duduk peha TS?

Let me explain Internet Infra at a Glance:

1) At National Level.
There will be a appointed wholeseller of "Bandwidth", or a group of company owing the access of country level back-bone network ( the under sea cable )

user posted image

This is how Malaysian can connect to Internet. Regardless type of connection u use ( 4g,fiber, 5g )

2) Bandwitdh allocation At ISP Level ( Telco )
user posted image

This explain how ISP provide their user to access internet ( regardless of connection type )

So, Example TELCO A only purchase 1TB/s daily bandwidth.
and they have 2 million user. Regardless on connection type... All Telco A's user sharing the 1TB/s bandwidth.
- Telco A can have various plan to manage EACH User Max speed limit.

3) Concurrent User
Also , the in the same Area, Depend on number of concurrent user, it also challenge the telco's switch, router capicity at that area.

So, Example:

If i using 1Gbps LAN connection to my router. Transfer from Device A to B ( i may get max speed )
But, if 12 person in same House, all 1Gbps, all use same time. Nobody getting Max Speed.

5G is just a Network Connection Technology. IT DOESNT guarantee your actual SPEED

All Telco use same 5G tower, still depend on each Telco own Bandwidth alloc, concurrent user number, and their Hardware capacity.

-----------------------------

Please stop the nonsense, all Telco 5G use same infra = Same 5G
Many Fiber also use TM infra, different Quality also..

I hope nobody think 5G allow them to connect to Internet DIRECTLY..
Nope. 5G only the connect to 5G tower (stop) (the rest would be cable connection from this point )
then Telco Infra, then IPX (internet exchange point), then submarine cable

Dnb not the final factor

the final factor is still the bandwidth to submarine cable

AFAIK, any method used to bypass hotspot limit CAN be detected by the celcos, eg by using high-tech Deep Packet Inspection software. Usually, mostly heavy data users are targets for DPI and banhammer by smart celcos (TM UF and Celcom are not very smart celcos), eg those who are subscribed to cheap phone plans but use 40GB of data in 1 day or 400GB in 1 month.

The way I see it, all the rest of the factors will affect all telcos roughly equally.

What will make a difference is the amount each telco will sign up for in their contracts.

If telco A signs up for 10x the usage capacity of telco B, but it has 20x the customers, that may lead to some artificial throttling further down the line.

But currently 5G adoption is still low, by the time you see an impact just mnp la aiyo. For now, maybe the smart thing to do would be to shop around for the best offer. If your place has a good strong 5G signal and you have the equipment, just go with the cheapest 5G offer.

If you still need 4G, and you move around a lot, maybe stick with maxis, celcom or digi until they iron things out.

Just my 2 cents.

the 5g still connect to the same infra as 4g from same telco

get it????

eg, telco b speed were terrible in certain area
5g cant fixed that

but i acknowledge telco B may alloc more resources to its 5g user to impress them.

but u guys didnt get the point
in best case, 5G may not the bottleneck factor of ur connection speed.

didnt u guys curious? why we are very far from 5G full speed??

Coverage. For now 5G is cheaper than 4G, but 4G coverage > 5G coverage. Which is why Celcom, Digi and Maxis can still charge a premium.

Download speeds are only gimmicks to win over consumers. You are worried about the difference between 300 Mbps and 500 Mbps on a phone? Seriously?

I really couldn't care less about 5G full speed on my phone. Phone package from telco A at half the price of telco B? Deal me in. 100 Mbps on my phone vs 500 Mbps on your phone? Yeah, I'll try not to lose too much sleep over that.

edit:
QUOTE

Yes it can. In a lot of cases, if you have good coverage, terrible speeds may be due to congestion. For now, 5G is still underutilized. And we still do not know if any telco will/has undersubscribed or oversubscribed data usage capacity from DNB.
