Please don't forget this is a mainstream card not high end. Glad they keep the best out of R600 and remove the unnecessary such as 512bit memory bus. Not to forget UVD is present here this time around. If this card can hit the sweet spot price, its pretty good card imho. And it should since this card is a mainstream card.

Either source is unreliable or the HD3870 is performing better than G92 which is unlikely.

Most likely silent than r600 reference cooler. Not much cooling needed for rv670, dual slot is to reduce the acoustic level. They can go for single slot just like the g92.

It looks like the HD3850 rules on top vs previous generation cards.

As for the IQ, it's pretty much the same after all since G80. Did ATI build better filter in R6xx? Not quite.

Who told you that you need 800w to run CF? Even 3 way SLi ultra still pull under 800w from the wall outlet.

Minimum requirement always higher than what it should. To be safe most of the time. Less than 1000w usually don't have the third 6 pins pci-e. But can always combine 2 molex if dare enough.

Anandtech ususally measured load power with total system power draw. Those numbers represent total system power consumption.

Depends on what resolution. 1680x1050 with all bells and whistles on, definitely lag.

Any radeon owner with 7.12 drivers having experience with bad color palleting in 2D rendering especially font? The problem only happen when cleartype function was turn off.
In my case it's affecting yahoo messenger messages font, google result and forum board.

Haven't tried 8.1 yet. Besides that, I encountered another different glitch with 7.12 and now I'm staying with 7.11 everything runs fine. Not running any games though in this 2400pro machine.
