QUOTE(clayclws @ Jan 3 2008, 01:02 PM) My suggestion is to get a vanilla HD3870 - from whatever brand that you trust - then get a HR03GT and a fan. It may cost much more but at least, it is a lot cooler (up to 25°C cooler in some cases) and you are sure to have a good time OC-ing. Put in HR03GT + Fan still can crossfire? >_< |

recommendation on crossfire motherboard?
Gigabyte x38-dq6 and abit quadGT looks weak. left Asus p5e/maximus formula and DFI X38-T2R not to forget Foxconn X38A. |

QUOTE(likito @ Jan 24 2008, 10:47 AM) now everyone talking abt crossfire 3870 . I would say depends on game, some games dun utilize xfire that much thus the tiny increment in performance so 16x/4x and 16x/16x doesn't differ much.let say i got 16x-4x/8x-8x mobo , how much performance lose compare to full bandwidth 16x-16x ? 5% < XXX <10% anyone know ? Most I saw also 16x/4x and 16x/16x different around 15 fps, and it depends on the resolution you play also. Crossfire got better advantage with higher resolution. |
