"if u r a genuine visitor then u have nothing to fear.. because u will have the right answers to my questions and the papers that i want to see.. "
a friendly immigration officer aunty told me when i was abit nervous + tired after overnite flight into Melbourne during my first trip 25 years ago..
since then i have travelled there almost annually.. for work + family.. no issue with immigration. a few even welcomed me back.. (of course cause i freaking pay taxes there too)
unless u super unlucky.. u will get be welcomed into Aus.. maybe will take extra effort la..

ETA application gotten stricter eh? i never submit any documents.. just pay money and get it within the hour.... and friendly reminder, just to remove any potential issues.. NO food in your check in or carry on luggage.. even food from the plane or airport.. if the dog gets to u, at best u gonna waste some time while they check ur bags.. Melbourne is full of (almost) authentic Malaysian food.. especially the CBD.. u aint gonna miss anything..

just because u have formal employment, family and mortgage doesn't mean u wont jump aeroplane.. u cud have quit ur job one week before travelling to jump aeroplane to earn money for your family and mortgage..
even travelling with your family there u could get rejected by immigration.. u can easily enter with ur wife and children then later they go back themselves..
basically it is up to the mood of the approving officer.. dont be surprised if u get rejected even though u earn 10k/month.. while u have 7k loan to pay and 2 kids to feed..
learnt this a decade ago while blowing water with an immigration agent/runner at the Australian embassy in KL.. waiting to apply for my australian TIN
