Hello guys, i will be visiting Melbourne this coming November/December for 'The Weeknd' Concert.

i just bought the concert tickets yesterday, and i already apply my Visa yesterday. Im still waiting for my approval before i buy my flight tickets and i will be staying at my friends place .

Will i get approve within this few week? cos i did not attached my flight details the only thing i attached was my National Identical Card, Passport, my concert tickets as evidence for visiting.
Please advice.

Thank You

I applied for my visa last year and it took them about a month to approve.

Don't worry about the flight ticket since they themselves would tell you to NOT buy your flight ticket until your visa is approved.

Before applying for your visa, didn't they specify on the website the docs they need from you?
As elm0001 said above, submit everything je la to save yourself any more inconvenience. I myself submitted "everything" they asked for... 3/6 month payslip, bank statement, mortgage/loan statement, credit card statement, TNB bill, leave approval from my boss etc etc sweat.gif

I submitted ETA application on 8th April and until today there is no update. Is the time frame normal? it's has been more than 2 week since I submitted the application

give them about a month or so
I did mine back in 2022, and it took them about a month to approve my application

Hi all….
I wish i had found this forum earlier before i submitted my application.

On Aug 5th the i submitted my mom’s and my application in ETA. My mom’s visa was quick, like immediate. Mine i received an email asking me to provide more docs and also sibmit the form 1554. Did all that in the immi acc and submitted on Aug 6th at 7pm. I attached all the docs including my mom’s approved visa and also provided the info where i will visit and also will be visiting my bro as well. He lives in melb and is a PR. However, i forgot to put the duration i plan to stay there and i did not attach itinerary. That section i put my employment letter and i have worked for this MNC for 20 years now. The status hasnt changed from received. My question is should i go back in and input the itinerary? And also how to do that? Is it edit?  Just worried that it has bedn 2 days and nothing yet. Btw i have visited au before but it was in 2018 and i checked yes for the previous eta question but i no longer have the number so left it blank.

2nd question is my niece now wants to follow. So she would need to apply on her own using her eta app on her phone right? The thing is she just graduated from uni and does’t have a job yet. So we are currently preparing the documents as i suspect she wont get auto approval in eta.  Besides parents sponsor letter, parents financial statments,  sponsor letter from my brother, what else can she upload to demonstrate she will be coming back? She did visit australia in year 2016

Thanks in advance on your feedback/inputs

Itinerary no need la but a "letter of invitation" from your bro would help.
No need to worry yet la... The last time i went in 2021, it took them about a month to approve then in early this year when I applied again, it was approved within the week (my sister wrote the "letter of invitation" for me too)

As for your niece, could be a bit difficult coz she just only graduated and no job. They might consider her "high risk" unless your bro can put in a word in writing saying that she'd definitely return to MY but even then, no guarantee they will approve. My colleague had his letter of invitation from his brother and they still rejected his application. So all you can do is submit whatever you can and then pray hard that it gets approved

These f*ckers are the ones that make it difficult for me every time. MCB really.

Before some people cry "oh Australia just rasis with Malaysian", nope it's because of CB Kias like this. If you are old people like my mom ETA is still almost instant approval after payment even if using Malaysian passport. Those <40 years old will kena like this.

Me just above 40 still kena scrutinize macam criminal
Went twice before and still kena scrutinize cry.gif

For Malaysians below 40 yo (based on friends and family's ETA applications), generally you will need to give yourself more time to get an ETA.

I've been applying every year for the past 3-4 years, every year also ask for more info, every year also I'll apply around 2 months in advance lol. My most recent application was in March this year, submitted extra info on 3rd March, got the approval letter on 8th March. Hopefully you'll get a respond within this week.

same here!! for the past 3 years that I have been applying, each time asking for more and more info but the response time did get shorter. The only difference is that super paranoid me applied 6 months in advance laugh.gif

2022: 1 month
2023: 2 weeks
2024: 2 days
2025: almost immediately

oh, i didn't even have to submit any docs this time around icon_rolleyes.gif
