I age 33 with no prior entry record to Australia.
Submitted my ETA and got the approval email within minutes.
I don't think is age profiling.

QUOTE(nauticat99 @ Sep 5 2023, 11:41 PM) Plain clothes officers. I have no idea what they will ask cause never got stop but I am not surprised they could be observing people who are sitting at the boarding gate while waiting to board. Maybe they pick on those people whose body language are giving out some funny vibes?. They are there all the time, any flights going out of KLIA to Australia The flight I boarded bound for Bali (The flight will fly to Australia after stopping at Bali) has two blonde officers wearing full black uniform with the name "Border Force". They actually look at your behavior. Got this guy randomly stopped and questioned, then subsequently denied boarding. He was planning to go backpack and his dressing quite sloppy with Japanese slippers. I think key is to make yourself look presentable. |

QUOTE(hksgmy @ Sep 6 2023, 06:26 AM) I fly from Singapore (where I work) to Australia at least 6 times a year (we have a holiday home and my Porsches are parked there), and in thankful that I’ve never been stopped … and in Singapore there are no Australian border police that I noticed. I’ll keep an eye out for them and see if they are present later this month (I’m due to fly back again). Singapore won't have issues.More so if you transit through full fledge carriers like SIA. QUOTE(hirano @ Sep 6 2023, 12:07 PM) Look presentable also kena. The one who went with me was senior manager level lagi. we all chinese, malay, indian (1 malaysia). I wore t-shirt, jeans, sneakers. So what happened to him? |

QUOTE(Gentleman_League @ Sep 6 2023, 12:49 PM) My ETA got rejected due to attachment insufficient, this round i attached more then 15 doc for them prove that i had a company here is under my name , SSM, form 49,my EFP saving, 3month paying slips and all and a letter from my company as employee verification. Different profile. One of the FB group I joined suggested typing a word doc explaining the income/requirement and attach as cover letter. Got approved after first round of rejection. i just put everything in as much as possible finger cross, will get it by next week. My friend submitted the same attachment with me get Granted, but mine rejected. weird lol QUOTE(hirano @ Sep 6 2023, 12:52 PM) Nothing happened to me and 2 other with me. just got questioned by the aus officers (which i let my manager handle), and we're let go. not even 5 minutes. Then that's ok. Just questions. If you can answer them should be okay. |

QUOTE(hksgmy @ Apr 24 2024, 11:12 AM) To be honest, it will get harder and harder for us to move over, once we've established ourselves in our respective fields and careers in our present country of residence. This is quite true. Malaysia, for all that everyone says about it, isn't all that bad, and a decent standard of living can still be had. KL is not that bad if you're established and earning decent money. |

QUOTE(hksgmy @ Apr 24 2024, 11:59 AM) Very true. As long as one doesn't compare, things should be fine once a certain standard of living has been achieved. Yep. I always say this, only ever make the move if it places you in a better stratum insofar as the standard of living is concerned, or at the very least, a lateral equivalent one. No point trading in a T20 lifestyle for a M40 one. My SG friends always envy when they come here. Life in SG is rushing everyday and quite shag. Come KL suddenly peace of mind and calm. More relaxing. Some even thinking of retiring in KL or Ipoh when the time comes. |

QUOTE(feynman @ Apr 25 2024, 12:00 AM) and soon Msians will lose that privilege of visa free access.......NZ will follow suit. Don't you think the current Aussie ETA is more like a mini-visa? If the UK imposes restrictions, Schengen will likely follow. If that happens, I guess just travel within Asia...... It's akin to a fake visa free access. |

QUOTE(hksgmy @ Apr 25 2024, 10:55 AM) Usually that’s all electronic now. I can’t say about KLIA, but if you don’t have a valid visa attached to your passport, Changi won’t even let you board the flight. My last travel to Australia Perth, they have ABF officers stationed at KLIA boarding gate to check your credentials and ETA.I remember one family was denied boarding. |
