Sigh. So troublesome. Wifey converted to Singapore passport decades ago and her Australian PR application was so much simpler than mine and even her application for visitor visas prior to us obtaining our PRs was so much simpler.

I remember the Australians wanting to see my bank statements and how much savings I had.

Not easy if don't have family members in AU.

My parents got their visas approved within 24 hours because my sister is PR there.

I was told AU don't need visitors because the country itself is not tourist friendly.

Current VISA application Status... still pending...

.............. 2+ more weeks before planned fly out. I still havent purchased the plane tickets. Wife depressed liao... all that effort planning the road trip...

Timing this holiday is once in a lifetime. Can never repeat again...

what about high blood pressure medication pills? My doctor did write up the presciption but need to declare?

Don't bring any food if you can. Otherwise declare all, let them decide which are ok.

Actually, Australia is "supplement" heaven, why bring any? Just buy them there. People actually buy in bulk to bring home.

Regarding the application submission date; partially to blame. I trusted my relative who's a seasoned traveler; BUT.... hasnt been to Aussie in years, but was relatively up to date.  :🙄

Know what she told me? Aussia ETA only apply **within** the 4 weeks before you fly... 😣

Due to circumstances.. i LUCKILY was checking 6-WEEKS before date... so was ranting abit to the relative. She also realised her mistake. She was speed reading and brain processed the timing sentence wrongly. So i'm guinea pig for her.... 😛😖

Anyways.. now other personal health matters have come into play that might actually cause postponement. So luckily also didnt but tickets yet 😩. And luckily still within ZERO cancelation fees timetable on the hotels if we get health results in time. I just lose my discounts buying so damn close to flight dates.

Simple answer: don't drive into CBD of any major Oz city. The parking will bleed you.

Even just 5 years ago it wasn't that bad. Since Covid reopening, inflation has skyrocketed and these parking areas took the opportunity to suck more blood.

However, public transport isn't cheap either. So if you are a group of 4 or 5, it may still work out viable driving and parking.

Nothing is cheap in Australia.
