I want to encourage fellow forummers to start purchasing from online stores like Amazon.com and Yesasia.com but I figured that most forummers are afraid to do so because of the hassle of clearing the package with the Kastam. I have heard of many succesful cases of orders coming through without any problems. I myself have ordered Toys from Tower.com and DVD's from Amazon.com without any problems so far. It would be good if other forummers can share their experience here to encourage the purchase of originals from overseas!

Other Comments: Nuthing... the first time I use a prepaid Mastercard to purchase something online from Oversea successfully.

It's not proven that it's safe. So many forums complain about greedy kastam eg.

depends on "season"....

I order books, cds and dvds from amazon all the time. I think i've only had an issue twice. In both cases, I got a refund. Usually takes 2 weeks to reach me (with the standard shipping)

Ok, I've two experience I want to relate what I bought
a)Ultimate Matrix DVD
b)LOTR - Return of the King EE

Add up both costing rm300.

Using cheap mailing which is cheap or free. But custom caught it and ask me to go there. So I hesitate because I know surely they'll charge. So I tell Amazon, I didn't receive it. So Amazon send another time using Internatioal Express Mailing which is very expensive. It directly come to me.

So moral of story, use more expensive express courier. Don't use cheap mailing or else custom intercept.

Hopefully custom send back the DVD and not take it home

I guess like you mention its all base on luck. So even those shipment below RM 500 still gets caught by kastam. Well hopefully forummers can find a better way on how to bring this stuff in. Anyone can share here?
