I went to UK pub, is a whole lot different environment there.

people bring their kids, throw darts, play pool, watch EPL.

people drink beer, like drink beverage.

its quiet and they don't blast music into your ears until deaf.

some more beer and liquor is cheap there.

In other countries you can pay as low as RM4-10 for cocktail or a mug of beer. But its expensive over here.

Drinking is not a sin, but if one spends 3k every week on drinks, while they can save it for other better purposes, its wasteful.

Unpopular opinion, but I tend to agree with TS and mystery here. Drinking brings no benefit. Even one that I can think of would be.. probably the few hours of high and rush.

Then again, looking at the bigger picture without judging, people have their own way of fun. If Alcohol, pubs, and singing is their kind of fun so be it.

Who are we to dictate the way they wanna live their lives.On the other hand, we have our rights to voice opinions. I'm with TS on this.

i can think of a few reasons.

1. Unhappy marriage so there's a reason to go out.
2. A form of PR requirement even if they don't want, but their client want. They need to close the deal.
3. Men with excessive testosterone. It's a suitable lifestyle for these kind of partygoers. Meditation is not their way, club is but you shouldn't judge either. To each, their own.

Men have been drinking since time immemorial. Drinking is popular among European, Japanese, Korean, PRC, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Thai, etc culture. Having wine, beer or liquor over dinner is common and normal. A reason why most if not all GLC unsuccessful internationally.

Duty on alcohol in this country is among the highest in the world. A reason why few tourists returns again.

History showed, those countries and culture banned alcohol tend to be less developed and progress in technology and economic. A reason why bedouins live in a few centuries ago lifestyle.

Spending money and enjoying not always means it's good for you. Case in point, smoking. That's why government keep coming up with acts to discourage smoking

Now, of course others have the rights to spend their money to enjoy and as long not hurting anyone we should just leave the fuck out of them. My point is just not every case that spending money to enjoy = good, some people need a knock out of their addiction

please realise everyone is different and have their own ways of finding joy/happiness/escaping reality
everyone will always think everyone else's hobbies are a waste of money/time

playing games, collecting toys, modding cars, cafe hopping, clubbing ect all wasting money/time in a way or another
