the only problem is the space is limited.. summore ssd drive is damn expensive. need external hdd to store programs.

where i can find this notebook? looks interesting to me. Need to carry a laptop everywhere cuz i'm forex trader. the trading platform only 40-50mb.. so this one is more than enough for me.. currently i'm using acer travelmate 6292. 12" lcd, weight 2kg.. quite heavy also.. especially for small person like me.. tongue.gif

i just install xp pro.. installed driver,office 2003, adobe acrobat reader, vlc player, norton internet security 2007. 1.4gb left.

although some people said norton consume a lot of resource, but i notice the startup is much faster compare to computer, with same software installed. boot time.. 35 seconds from switching on button, until finish loading startup items (no hdd activity).

before this i have problem with webcam.. found out that os installation setting cause the problem.

go to bios.. go to advanced.. go to os installation, set it to finished.

bulat bulat... install xp takes about 1.5gb. for office 2003, i only install word, excel power point..around 340mb ...no point installing others if not using. waste space only....

actually i already make my own nlite version. i manage to make the xp installer cd 185mb only. but then if insert device.. need driver.. put this.. need driver.. put that.. need driver.. at last i install full version.. hehehe.

yes. i reformated and repartition the hdd. by default, it has 4 partitions.. i deleted all and make 1 patition only... home button will open the start menu.. wait ah.. will post screenshot..

if you set os installation to start, no matter how you change the webcam to enabled, it will automaticly disabled after restart.

boot time and shut down are faster due to the use of ssd drive. i notice that with the same software.. my eeepc is twice faster for boot up / shut down compare to my desktop.

at pc fair probably u can get it.. but i think is limited also due to worldwide shortage.

but i think after this, more manufacturers will produce notebook like this.. small & cheap price.

i just upgraded to 1gb and turn off swap file completely.. performance much better + less hdd activity.

Mine is Regular Windows XP Pro SP2 with 1G RAM (0401 BIOS)

Below Tweaks i had done:
1. Change the pagefile to 256mb, 256mb MAX
2. Compress Drive to save same space on SSD (Windows installed inside)
3. The tweak from Asus manual had done
4. AVG Antivirus Free Edition installed + updated
5. Windows updates full and the tweak to delete the hotfix + backup file had done.
6. Use CCleaner always.

What else i miss out?

Compress Drive to save same space on SSD <----- if i'm not mistaken, this will make it slower

after u uncompress, sure take a lot of space.. eat a lot more space than the space before you did the compression part.. i dunno what cause it.... ended up reformatting whole thing again.

if turn off page file, performance not much difference. . however, hdd activity is much less than before. at startup also hdd led not much blinking. one more, you can save hdd space..

rm175 can get 2gb sodimm....
