I think this no spare tyre thing blown out of proportion liao. They give tayar punp and sealant what

My car the other day also kena paku, no spare tyre, not runflat tyre also. Just pump first and drive to tyre shop la

Luckily is u who drive it. If girl, they will drive like usual and said not hearing any abnormal noise from the flat tyre especially the rear. End up the tyre burst at roadside. This is where tyre spare is necessary

10/10 youngsters don’t know how to change tyre.

They rather drive slowly to tyre shop with a puncture tyre.

bro don't mention about youngsters, I think many drivers nowadays are quite unsure of their own car functions.
if you join those fb groups of myvi, persona, saga.. literally filled with idiots
got spanar icon appear - reminder for service, yet will ask, 'omg driving halfway got this icon, what does this mean? still can drive? Anything spoil?'
or got cold engine icon.. omg can drive? luckily its blue only.. imagine driving the car with the light lit up as red. then keep driving for sometime.. rip engine
oh.. the best question I've ever seen in myvi 2022 group.
how to on / off engine? the driver tried turning on the engine with the 2 time push method and 3 time push method.
off also wanna ask haha.. yet can say there's actually a pamphlet on how to off the car's engine, but he doesn't believe it. LOL

simple car operating functions also don't know.. what more change a spare tyre lo..
some can even buy the car without knowing the car functions..
its like buying a smartphone not knowing it can browse internet and make phone calls

its very depending on situation la..
kena paku and you've noticed tyre getting flatter and flatter, then okay la, can pump more air then go patch
if got sohai force you off your lane, made you hit curb or something big and the whole tyre tear.. then pump and sealant can't even save you leh.
I've encountered this experience before. avoid an idiot from flying into the roundabout, hit the inner curb, entire right front tyre tear
luckily got spare tyre.. 30 minute settle by the roadside. safely of course.

don't mention girl.. I think nowadays many newer drivers girl or guy regardless, lack basic maintenance mentality. all they know is to buy car and drive the car.
what to maintain, how to maintain, they don't know one.
like my colleague, bought a persona, but don't know how to pump petrol, how to pop open the hood, how to use the keyless entry, how to set the gauges and meter all don't know. Owned for a year dy still got functions not knowing how to use one

Yes, so sad the engineer which compile all the procedures/documents for the manual book were left in dust somewhere in the car or even dustbin... doh.gif
In my car group if someone ask stupid question, i ask them did you know there is a manual book when you purchase your new ride? If used/2nd hand i understand, but a lot bought new car and dont even look through their books! shakehead.gif

Besides that, with google & youtube so easy to access nowadays. Simple question in those search column also can get a lot of answers..

but the thing is every car operates differently. Driving school cannot be teaching everything.
I mean for a car owner / operator, the least they should know is how to operate their car correctly and safely, knowing how to use the functions of the car.
Yes, ppl are willing to learn but also should have put in the effort to ask the question correctly or at least try knowing what the issue is first la.
anyhow ask 1 stupid question and wait for ppl to give them answer when a simple search on google ady could have gotten the answer.
Question like - how to on off engine.. like really meh? come on leh.. actually everything is already listed in the user manual like what littlefire said.
They (the new drivers) just gotta read it first then they'll know ady.

and nobody said new drivers are idiots.. It's just the questions that ppl ask in those car groups can be quite stupid

Agree bro, each different car got some difference 1. The car owner should at least understand the basic function of it. A lot of good information including warranty claim t&c also listed in those books but people never took effort to even look into it... sad.gif

I can never understand why people won't figure out how to change tyres.

The first time I need to do it was my sister's car. I mean it is as straight forward as boiling water right?

Just Unlock the nuts by rotating anti clockwise (like anything with a lid), jack the car up, take the tyre out, put the new tyre in and lock the nuts back in.

How can this be difficult is beyond me...

Edit: the 2 reasons why this is so easy: 1. the steps are super self explanatory and 2. you cannot proceed before finishing the previous step

from my observation over the years, most ppl stuck at the "jack car up" part, they are totally clueless on how to operate the jack

and they may not know where is the right spot to place the jack. heh.
Can't even start the first step of the process, how to proceed the rest?
