QUOTE(silverhawk @ Aug 21 2023, 12:09 PM) Cause oracle likely has a lot of low level hacks for some of its code (features, fixes, etc), which means that virtualizing it isn't so straight forward. and some people said Macs are good for software developer even better than windows PC. For some insight into maintaining the oracle db codebase: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=18442941 Franky, OracleDB is an old dinosaur. I do currently have work in it, but would be glad to never have to touch it again. |

QUOTE(li_hat @ Aug 21 2023, 01:38 PM) its kinda true because of macos is unix based. software develoment on front end app no issue on apple silicon but when it comes backend app, then this issue come out as u need to mingle with drivers/kernel that current backend solution is only optimize on x86/x64 or special platform like ibmpower/sparc QUOTE(brkli @ Aug 21 2023, 01:42 PM) full stack developer crying.. |

QUOTE(teckyuan @ Aug 21 2023, 01:57 PM) Oracle is very powerful one leh .. I also started with SQL server but eventually u will come across Oracle if u switch company or work with different customers. Where can u get bitmap index ? SQL server didn't offer that ... Though I hv been working in SQL server since my first career |
