By sharing such story and looking at his behaviour nowadays, shows that Sg is really in big trouble and it will be tough for them in this incoming years....and even more after the Thai canal has been completed
Let them enjoy their short golden age era for now |

Even back in 90s their leader has set up a mechanism which has 2 person to unlock the reserve, one is PM and another one is president. But in Malaysia the PM and MOF has absolute power to dictate Khazanah fate.
Until now the Singapore did not disclose how much reserve they have, scare kena speculator attack. |

dont to speculate its the fact SG have more than US$1 Trillion in Cash and asset.
how can the world 3rd or 4th largest financial centre doesnt have more than US$1 Trillion, a joke rite? Those money shielded SG Economy from Crisis and the pandemic. Can even lend indonesia money in the Asian Economic Crisis and aid the region financially if they ask. This documentary really goes to show how powerful and well managed she is. Confident booster for the local and FDI. |

Its a good vid. Solves a big mystery for me.
Always wondered why land sales not counted in sinkie government revenue. Future sinkie PM explain this is captured as reserve. he say reserve is used to fund land reclamation (not captured as budget expense). Hence, land sales isn't captured as revenue. What not stated is difference between cost of cheap sand for reclamation vs high revenue from land sales (RM58 Billion for FY 2023). Just for illustration, Sinkie land sale revenue is almost as big as Bolehland's development budget. Just another reason why sinkie reserves every year grow. |

QUOTE(takbodoh722 @ Aug 18 2023, 11:12 AM) Its a good vid. Solves a big mystery for me. i think they wanna hide the sales of land into government book, maintain the budget and keep the reserve expanding. The reserve also can be use on HDB to build affording housing. Always wondered why land sales not counted in sinkie government revenue. Future sinkie PM explain this is captured as reserve. he say reserve is used to fund land reclamation (not captured as budget expense). Hence, land sales isn't captured as revenue. Just for illustration, Sinkie land sale revenue is almost as big as Bolehland's development budget. Just another reason why sinkie reserves every year grow. I am really fascinating on how Singapore government design on the whole system, to prevent future politician tap into the reserve and utilize all. |

Foreign Exchange Reserves: USD $340+ billion Government of Singapore Investment Corporation or GIC: USD $770+ billion Temasek Holdings: USD $ 495+ billion CPF: USD $400+ to $500+ billion (*more of pension fund unlike GIC or Temasek) + others e.g. Sg Govt consolidated fund. Easily USD $2 trillion or more. https://www.swfinstitute.org/fund-rankings/...ign-wealth-fund https://www.mas.gov.sg/statistics/reserve-s...oreign-reserves This post has been edited by Mai189: Aug 18 2023, 12:29 PM James1983 liked this post

Honestly, with the amount of Singaporean investment abroad, that is the biggest weapon that they have. An attack on Singaporean owned assets in Malaysia, eg is an attack on Malaysia. Multiply that for all the countries that it actively trade and also invest in.... basically, no one will slap themselves on the face, because Singapore is on the face of every country in the world. George Soros- if he try to wack Singapore currency .... Singapore have the ability to hit back where George Soros money is at, and they can make him feel the heat. |

Petronas paid a total of RM 537 billion dividend to the government since 2005. If Malaysia has the foresight of Norway or Singapore, Malaysia would have had a large sovereign wealth fund that is way bigger than today's Khazanah Nasional.
