If the current sofa foam or spring is still good then can ask the furniture shop for rewrap. You can choose fabric or leather.

Most cheap leather mean synthetic leather, Even a real leather need maintenance.

If you choose fabric then better get the one with zip so it is easy to clean and also can order extra set.

Depend on how and ho is using. Fabric can or cannot last long. Attract dirt like clothes.

Faux leather - will get cracked and peeled off like after several years

Real leather can last much longer than all above I believe but not cheap nowadays

My sofa lasted 15 years before started showing crack. Well, maybe I never do anything to maintain it.

Better refurbish the leather sofa its cheaper than buying good quality fabric sofa.

Or buy those cheapo sofas (nice to see) for airbnb ones. Change every 3-5 years

Better buy reasonably priced fabric sofa and changed every few years. All sorts of people sit on it leaving dirt, germs, stains, wear and tear. So no point buying expensive leather that can be used for years. Also changing the sofa “refreshes” the living room, not so dated look
