I'm not expert but most of the reading I've done, it is said stainless steel is safer than plastic.. but most people still use plastic and that I know of, are still well.. so I still use plastic also, BPA free ones only.

Depends what's u r saying safe.

If u r asking whether the container is safe?
Stainless steel also got grade, make sure get the grade for food use.

How about storing water? Depends on your cleanliness of the container d, if u only put water, and sterilized with hot water and clean with soap. Make sure the edges is clean also. Then ur water can be kept long

This design is shit. Plenty tumbler have stainless steel on the inside and they are easier to carry around and don't kemek. Plus can retain hot and cold drinks

Totally fine no?

I use a Yeti Rambler for my coffee and a Corkcicle glass tumbler for my water. Chipped the glass so will get a 30 oz Yeti for water

As far as I know there is no classification on food grade SS. The 316 SS (also known as 18/10 stainless steel) is considered as food grade. The 304 SS (18/8) is considered food grade too. Others like 200 series like 201 SS is also FDA approved but not to be used for food storage because it is more corrosive than the 304.

All these stainless steel food grade is just self grading as there is no such official classification for food grade for stainless steel. The 316 is more expensive to produce than the 304 and it is less corrosive than the 304, which is already considered as food grade for beverage

been using stainless steel bottle for the past few years.
so far no health issues.
the main problem is the cap is difficult to take off. sakit tangan to break-out the connection then you need to turn so many times to get the cap off. then need to turn so many times to put it back on.

so much more inconvenient compared to plastic bottles but at least i can leave it in the car without worry.

Stainless steel is definitely safer than plastic in any temperature condition. Even those plastic without BPA, which are now being replaced with BPS / BPF, those 2 compounds still have many similarities with BPA. Apart from that, the characteristic of plastic doesn't change, meaning it will continue to leach some plastic into the water at warmer temperature.

Be aware that there are some stainless steel container that are actually aluminum, and those have plastic coating on the inside. So pouring warm/hot water inside will results in leaching of plastic content into the water.

Paper cups usually have a plastic coating on the inside. That's how it stays waterproof for so long. And those plastic coating will leaches into the drink.

I have no problems opening/closing mine.

Just twist the cap and unscrew until it comes off.

The cap is also made of metal but not sure whether it is stainless steel or not (see photo)

Stainless steel container is arguably the safest container to keep drinkable liquid. Its chemically inert and very high melting temperature. Not porous means almost nothing sneaky going to hide inside.

Get one with silicone external coating to allow easy drinking.

So if I were to buy one, I have to check the spec, to ensure it is 100% stainless?

Do they mention "non-aluminium"?

Usually if they mentione stainless steel, then it is stainless steel.

Aluminium, maybe you can feel it's light, but then it's hard to judge unless the bottle is naked.
