Is the galaxy ultra safe in water?
https://www.sammobile.com/news/how-waterpro...galaxy-watches/

Not sure if samsung warranty (the extra one you pay for) covers water damage. so personally i wouldn't chance it. It's a shame :/

For anyone wondering, yes the Galaxy Ultra has apnea detect feature, BUT, apparently it was not cleared by Malaysia yet

This article is for the apple brand, but the same probably applies to the samseng, becauz the apnea feature is missing, probably for the same reason

https://www.lowyat.net/2024/332810/apple-wa...detection-msia/

This feature merely just checks if you have sleep apnea or not. Once you've tried a week i suppose, you can then disable it. I don't think you need it on all the time, just initially to confirm it first for a week. then you can save on battery.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyWatch/commen..._in_background/

after using this for a while, noticed that the music app runs in background.

the only solution i could find, after charging my watch, check the apps to check if anything running in background. if u see the music app running, just close it. Have to check everytime i complete a full charge.

For google assistant you can disable it from running in background by going to settings. But for the music, doesn't seem to have this options. It's a bit ridiculous x-x;

Can I ask anyone have experiences with Samsung watch on swimming? I turned on water lock mode, but after that the watch lost control. On and off, screen running itself. But during the swimming, watch audio still reporting for workout session. Is it because speaker issue?

Yes I brought today to service centre. Techinician suspect motherboard breakdown. Still I pay RM27 for technician double confirm check. If it's motherboard considered burnt because cost is RM1.2K to fix.

Yes just received the quotation RM1.2K.
Not sure is it worth for watch 7, or should change to garmin.

Lesson learnt, never bring watch for swimming. Even if water lock also useless.

after recent galaxy ultra watch update, tested battery (i did a cache partition clear after firmware update).

battery lasts 3 days if use all the batter. but if i use from 100 to 20-30% its about 2 and a half days.

If u disable all the features and simply use as a watch, supposedly the battery can a week maybe more (but at that point, y bother get a smart watch if u dont use the other smart features like health).

From personal experience, handphone, usb sony walkman inside washing machine after full cycle still works after putting it in a dry box for a few days. Still using my Honor Band 6 that has gone wonky after water ingress till now after drying it out in a drybox.

2-3 days for me. 3 days if i am willing to completely flatline the watch or close to it at 5-10% left. but normally i recharge at 20-30%

so for me based on that it lasts 2 and a half days before recharge. this is when i optimize the battery settings so it reduces battery drain, but still able to function for health monitoring 24/7

charging takes an hour or more.

So warranty doesn't cover damage due to swimming and then water enter?

Unfortunately, no. They didnt ask the cause. Only check what's spoilt.
