OH YEAH I managed to figure it out biggrin.gif

1280x800 with all max settings and forced 4x AA via Nvidia control panel gives a framerate of 35-45fps ... 1440x900 is also doable but during intense gunfights framerate drops to 25-ish ... I'm really really surprised that my crappy 8600gts is up to the task.

[edit] Hmm looking at the screenshot closely it doesn't seem that AA is on at all ... hmmmm ...

Through custom resolutions via forceware. Nvidia Control Panel --> Manage custom resolutions --> Create ... and setup as 1.jpg ... then click test and add and you should have the custom resolution ... which will be selectable in-game and also on the desktop.

In this case, it doesn't matter if your monitor doesn't support the res you choose (my monitor doesn't support 1280x800), because the driver does 1280x800 res but upscales it to 1680x1050 (or whatever your native monitor res is).
