DDPai X5 Pro 4K + 4G Link box

get this TS if you can afford it. Damn clear the 4K video but front camera only. Rear using 2K but still clear for me also.
But at night, ok la still clearer than 2K resolution.

Now got 4G link box, ala Thinkware U series & Blackvue 970x dashcams' cloud service + online remote monitoring. But you gonna need to have 4G sim card inside & do hardwire and will draw power from 12V battery.

I went to Sicurez Sunway 2 months ago to install X5 Pro but without 4G link box (that time they didn't sell). Got 64GB microSD card free. RM1,699 plus installation.

but for the online monitoring, according to Sicurez boss, he says if buy together with power extender for Thinkware or Blackvue, the dashcam can run ~8 hours on parking mode. Without extender, ~3 hours only before dashcam cutoff to save your 12V battery from total drain.

so i guess, no point getting the 4G link box.

unless you have BMW or Mesilee, don't bother install those high end Thinkware or Blackvue dashcam that cost RM2k+.

70mai or DDPAi dashcams will do just fine for your Axia manual 2023 or BYD Dolpin LEL.

super capacitor dashcam quite rare or super expensive usually or crappy spec with cheaper price.

my old xiaomi dashcam i saw it got bloated and battery dieded almost immediately after engine off. so this time, if battery start pattern, remove b4 become fireball.

I use m300 also enough already. Can see plate clearly also.

but once a while don't forget to connect to your phone.
to sync the date and time.
after few months sure lari a lot

The higher resolution, the shorter the recording time. If want to record for long state crossing trip for future viewing just choose the lower spec one

Better to invest A500s with rear cam.

A500s looks clearer than a800s, how come
70mai is funny to sell a800s more expensive than a500s

digital optic is not so straightforward, there are many factors (lens, sensor, compression, codec, etc)
higher resolution is not always equal to higher quality image
and most of the time those normal consumer grade product they won't list very detail tech spec also, so quite impossible to know if just reading from spec sheet
that's why for commoners it's easier just check other people review or see it yourself

Trust me, get capacitor dashcam like DDPAI or Azdome M550

M550 comes with
dual channels (front 4K+rear 1080p)
Or
3 channels (front 2k+cabin 1080p+rear 1080p)

been using a500s full set front + rear for close to 2 years dy.

parked/drive under hot sun frequently. all still good.

and if got any problem just tukar battery je la so ez.

can even do preventive maintenance tukar battery early once start showing signs of kong if you so sked.

i tried to put back its already deformed because of the heat

my only complain with A800s after 2 years

too sensitive (using on mpv) sikit sikit then emergency recording, even you tuned the sensitive to lowest

I do park car under direct hot sun 5 x 8 hours daily, so far so good for mounting and sd card

70mai is horrible, they package a shitty hardware in a premium looking case and properly design box. Go for other brands

I have a139 3 channels. I intend to make it into 4 channels when I get my new car. I will buy the new a139pro and use it as a single front cam. Use my old 3 channel a139 at the rear and sides. My only problem is the wires all too long lol

Yup just maybe but I’ve 3 A500 installed more than few years. Installed right on the darker shade/tint of upper windscreen. So far no issue, crack or bloat

Mine use A500 (without s) almost 3 years now no issue. Just auto off a few second if unplug from the cable.

I've never read or heard of a dashcam's lithium ion battery causing a fire or explosion. Back when I used action cameras as dashcams, I used to have to replace swollen batteries approx every 1+ years.
Nowadays replacing such a battery in current dashcams is very easy...just plug in the new battery's molex connector...no soldering skillz required.

With that having been said, I prefer to err on the side of safety and will only use super-capacitor dashcams, and consider it to be a little bit more peace of mind in our already-complicated and busy world. But still there is a tiny rechargable battery inside supercap dashcams....the Real Time Clock (RTC) battery, which keeps alive the dashcam's settings. Its purpose is similar to the CR2032 CMOS battery on computer motherboards which keep alive the BIOS settings.

Im using DDPAI Z50 .. so far so good ..
