If buy proton must buy 2019.

As geely improve it at least.

Not just the word P R O T O N word behind.....

Starting in the summer of 2020, month-long loans of a Corolla Touring Sports factory modified to police specifications helped regional forces assess the hybrid model's potential as a response vehicle. Nottinghamshire Police is the latest regional force to react positively to this initiative.

The Corolla demonstrator is fitted with Toyota’s

2.0-litre hybrid powertrain

that delivers strong performance thanks to a 184PS output, but still provides low CO2 emissions of 120g/km and fuel consumption above 50mpg.

In practical terms, the Corolla Touring Sports has a flexible load space that can accommodate plenty of necessary kit. With all seats in place, it has a 598-litre capacity.

Toyota has a record in supplying vehicles to the

emergency services, including previous

Yaris, Corolla, Avensis and RAV4 models.

The latest Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

was recently signed up as a new rapid response vehicle for the Welsh ambulance service and

Toyota Land Cruiser

models have been in action with the police and Highways Agency.

The all-terrain Toyota Hilux

has long proved its worth for teams that need to reach remote locations, including HM Coastguard and mountain rescue teams.

There are also 11 Toyota Mirai

hydrogen fuel cell cars being used across London by the Metropolitan Police.

Honda CIVIC CELEBRATES ITS 50TH ANNIVERSARY

[SIZE=14]
Honda has developed 11 generations of the Civic since 1972 and has sold more than 27.5 million units globally.[SIZE=14]

The 11th generation of the Civic features a 1.5L VTEC Turbo Engine for the GCC market currently and will have the Civic e:HEV (Hybrid) to Near East and North Africa markets by end of 2022

An All-New Type R variant will be introduced to this region by next year and will set the benchmark for front-wheel drive vehicles in terms of performance, handling, and driver engagement

Dubai, UAE, 2022: This year Honda is celebrating 50 years of its iconic Civic. Developed as a ‘Car for the World’, more than 27.5 million Civics have been sold in 170 countries since the model was first launched in 1972.

As it enters its sixth decade with the launch of the 11th generation, the Civic continues to set new class benchmarks and exceed the expectations of customers around the world.

The Civics’ enduring popularity is testament to the pioneering work of Honda engineers over the past half a century.

Each generation has introduced its own progressive evolution of the original Civic design, advanced technologies, and new levels of performance, while maintaining the same purpose as the first Civic: a spacious and fun to drive compact car.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The 10th generation Honda Civic 1.8 S also has been chosen as the new mobile patrol vehicles (MPV) of the Royal Malaysian Police.

Honda Civic FC (2016 – 2022)

The C-Segment Honda Civic FC, also known as the tenth-generation Honda Civic, has been available in Malaysia since 2016. It is a highly popular compact sedan that has captured the hearts of car enthusiasts across the country.

Honda Civic 1.8 S

In Malaysia, Honda has discontinued the Honda Civic 1.8S and this Cars model is out of production.

[SIZE=14]Honda Civic 1.8 S is a 5 seater Sedan available at a starting price of

RM 109,326 in the Malaysia. [SIZE=14]

It is available in 5 colors and CVT transmission option in the Malaysia.

The Civic FC is available in a variety of variants, including the
1.8 S, 1.5 TC, and 1.5 TC-P.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I plan to buy this car and become a Grab driver, also using it for my personal travel.

My Proton Wira is already 18 years old, produced in 2005.

Possess a vehicle that’s not older than 15 years.

To become a Grab driver in Malaysia, you must possess a vehicle that is not older than 15 years. Only then are you eligible to earn income as a Grab driver.

My work schedule is as follows:

1 week is a 4-day work week, then 1 week is a 3-day work week with 12-hour rotating shifts from 9 am to 9 pm.

I only have 2 days OT per month.

So, in one month, I work only around 17 or 18 days, and I have around 12 or 13 off days.

Saga. Newest still got warranty. Don't need change absorber brake pad etc. Others con9lan7firm need to change all this and maybe engine mounting also. HOWEVER. Bear in mind need extra fees maybe few thousand for runner this and that, plus new tyres, plus interest rate difference for secondhand car and new car

You might be better off with new Axia

Nothing wrong with this if use fully syn which pretty much everyone use now. Other countries already minimum 10000 MILES for newer cars, only Malaysia so outdated. Honda Malaysia used to be 5000km some more, just wasting oil and money

Miles only applies for US. All other countries use metric system which means KM .

Not Malaysia is outdated, is you are misinformed. The reason why some cars can go 10000 miles is because they have a much bigger oil pan and bigger oil filter. Japanese engines for 2.0L needs around 4L of engine oil. German cars that can do 10000 miles with same displacement need ~50% more engine oil.

Anyways , engine is very expensive. Oil is cheap . Why risk damaging the engine with prolonged oil change?

Miles is a system that Malaysia use too but very little. We call batu. Kalau tak tau jangan la buat pandai. Yes that was my whole point, our manufacturers stuck at 10k km when others already 16,000 km interval. Nah siap bagi conversation hepi tak.

Honda UK specify 12,500 miles as interval. Same engines car models as Malaysia, same engine oils same filters. Your information is the one that's outdated.

https://www.honda.co.uk/cars/faqs.html#headingone

There is no so called risk of damaging with prolonged oil change when everything is done as recommended by manufacturer. Only outdated mechanics say things like this, because they no new knowledge, therefore they scared. Buat keje kena update knowledge, kalau tak malu jadi jaguh kampung je.

Proton saga tarak guna CVT, even the latest model still using 4AT transmission

I driving a 2018 persona and 6ft tall
Pros:
1. good handling
2. cheap maintenance

Cons:
1. Rubbish CVT gearbox, delay kaw kaw
2. High fuel consumption

I have experience with KIA Forte, Nissan Almera, Mazda2, maintenance cost of these cars are very high.

IMHO, recommend TS buy a brand new saga, why bother to look at 2nd hand one whistling.gif

I have sat in the front passenger seat of a Mazda 3 before. So it should be okay for a person who is 180cm tall.

Mazda 3 cars typically have sufficient legroom and headroom in the front seats, which should provide enough comfort for someone of that height.

However, personal comfort preferences may vary, so it's always a good idea to try out the seat and adjust it to your liking before embarking on a long journey.

Di you means others Mazda car models?

Well, being a 180cm tall guy has its perks and challenges. On the bright side, it's great to have a good vantage point in crowds, and I can easily reach things on higher shelves.

However, one issue that bothers me at times is how some cars these days are incredibly low. It's not always easy to get in and out gracefully without hitting my head on the car's roof or doorframe.

I've come to realize that I need to be mindful of which cars I choose to avoid this inconvenience. Opting for vehicles with higher interiors is a smart move to ensure both comfort and safety while driving.

The main disadvantage of being a 180cm tall man seated in a car is that you may have a harder time experiencing the wonders of the world, such as the beauty of two mighty mountains.

Even when they are right in front of you, you might need to bend down or adjust your position to fully enjoy the view.

Would suggest proton ertiga. Yes, its an rebadged suzuki ertiga 2012 but its a MPV that handles like a car, higher wheelbase, and high headroom which is good for your height. 2nd hand less RM40k can get, but parts need to sendiri cari.

If you want shorter cars with similar headroom, consider Suzuki SX4.

Dunno why still got people say Saga is CVT tranny.... Saga already using 4AT since 2019. Even 2023 version using Aisin 4AT. I had the 2008 Saga BLM (4AT) and acceleration all is great after a few exhaust modifications. That time, I was using 15" rim with Michelin Pilot Sport 3 (which has great grip) and the car still can move fast. Served 12 years with zero issues other than engine oil leaking due to wear and tear. The car do has its downside (i.e. NVH and the infamous sagat, in addition seats using bad cloth material) but for the price its negligible.

Downfall starts when they released this FL and FLX with CVT until 2018 and practically all the complaints on the transmission flood like no tomorrow.

Persona's power is okay due to higher cc but mind you, Campro engines fc is on the higher side even for a 1.3L. Imagine having a 1.6L above campro. But least you get a better chassis, NVH, and ride comfort and safety features.

If really your budget is around 40k, new Saga should be enough to have a peace of mind. 2nd hand japanese cars could be a pain in the arse as you will need to reserve another 4-5k for suspension and engine weartear parts - even if you get a well maintained model....

Personally I think Persona should have the highest seating among these list + tall headroom even at rear seat.

The driver seat is adjustable so it can be lifted as well, being tall driver, the seat immediate to your back will have small leg room due to Persona came with really wide seat that support your thigh for all passengers.

Some car have visually spacious leg room because they shortened the seat, imagine 10cm short in front + back seat will give u extra 20cm in leg room.

I believe 3rd gen Saga (2019 to 2022) is using the same gearbox as the 1st gen Saga, but may be wrong about it. It is this year the gearbox is from other supplier, so nobody knows the reliability, but its Aisin so I think nothing much will go wrong.

2nd generation has the worst tranny, but has better suspension than the 1st. Not to say CVT got big issues as cars is always about the quality of maintenance, but its known those that abuses their Proton CVT tend to face problems more frequently... Maybe the gearbox itself ain't as durable as the traditional 4at? I dunno.

If I buy 2nd hand also, I'd prefer cars with 4at over cvt too.

If the front driver lifts the seat to a higher position, it should create more legroom for the passengers seated behind because the driver's seat takes up more vertical space rather than horizontal space.

As the driver's seat is raised, it allows for additional legroom for the rear passengers.

Oh sorry to confuse you, the lifting have nothing to do with leg room at the rear,

Because the nature of you being tall you will adjust the seat backward which somehow reduces legroom for back seat.
I believe Persona should be no.1 or no.2 in your list to have smallest leg room for rear seat.

Front seat lifted or not, the rear passenger still can tuck their feet under the seat unless they wore tall shoes, then raising the seat gives a bit more room.

Front seat lifted or not, the rear passenger still can tuck their feet under the seat unless they wore tall shoes, then raising the seat gives a bit more room.

Many buyers of Proton cars have happy families and kids.

I understand that people have different preferences when it comes to cars.

Proton and Perodua both have their strengths and appeal to different individuals.

Let's focus on discussing the pros and cons of each car brand rather than making assumptions about someone's personal life based on their choice of car.

You should go and try a sitting position before deciding one of them, if you tall over 185 like uncle those 4 out of my options, because i need to constantly moving my head left right up and down all blind spot, a good vehicle should cover your eye view like widescreen minimal eye and head movement needed , is like if you too short don't die die ride a high height motorcycles
*
Now, what I know is that the Proton Persona's driver and passenger back seating is quite suitable for someone who is 180cm tall.

I will try sitting in it on August 12th to see how comfortable it is.

If you are fine living without reverse camera, only 2 pcs speakers, physical key, non-fold rear seat & non touchscreen radio, you may go for standard.
Anyway the headunit, speaker & reverse camera can be added later probably within RM2k

Personally I would either take Standard or Premium because mid spec price Vs full spec only 5k, I would rather get full if I can afford exec.

For 2nd hand I think Standard would do just well, because premium of that time may not have that much of wow factor compare to current offering.

All you need to do is budget about RM2k for a better headunit with Android Auto/Carplay, speaker upgrade and reverse camera installation.

As long sitting position visibility minimum eye movement needed , steering wheel can easily full turn left or right without awkward , technically is a safer vehicle than fully safety equipped vehicle, if you don't feel comfort no matter how good the vehicle safety provided is a junk for you.

i am 186 and owning 2018 persona standard

ok la ..rear seat can duduk lo

wont bang roof

but comfort for long distance = nope

if used car then persona standard should be good for normal usage ..if you really just want a car to go around
but remember that ..
few concern on 2018 time punya persona standard CVT.
persona standard seat cannot do 60:40 fold 1 -i remember newer MC version even standard also can fold (i might wrong)
front and rear reverse sensor quite slowpoke ..either u change it or deal with it
stock player from blaupunkt bluetooth cannot use as media ..only phone call (if u want play song just use AUX or even pendrive)
CVT start stop jerk (but u will used to it anyway)

the rest working as expected..didnt fail me at roadside till today

Saga - good for seat comfort & handling
Cons - Fuel Consumption high a bit (rented Saga 4AT in Langkawi, RM50 for 250km trip with 70-80kmh speed driving)

Persona - spacious, comfort & Good handling than Almera & City
Cons - Fuel consumption

Almera - Spacious, good fuel consumption
Cons - lookout for cooling coil issue, less powerful engine

Mazda - great fuel consumption, better than City, good handling
Cons - Maintenance bit higher than City, cramped rear seat, not as spacious as City & Bezza

City - Spacious, bulletproof engine 118hp, good fuel consumption
Cons - handling & Suspensions cant beat Mazda 2 & Persona & even Saga one, lookout for CVT, change CVT HCF2 oil every 40k km for longevity - RM14k for new unit at Honda SC

Bezza - spacious & great fuel consumption + ASA Safety Feature
Cons - handling & Suspensions is below City, rear seat less comfortable

Honda City CVT Gearbox*
If the gearbox kong, to replace new unit at SC costs you RM14k+ last check 2 years ago. If repair outside costs around RM3.5k depends on severity of damage

Change CVT gearbox oil on every 40k km of mileage, or you can proceed to change every 20k km mileage by earliest

AT better than CVT? = CVT is best for fuel consumption, for spirited driving, better to use AT than CVT, can't say CVT is weak, Subaru XV Lineartronic CVT is also good, XV fuel consumption is decent, Non-turbo 2.0L boxer engine

still 13,888 is cut throat. Unless it has 4A-GE in.

Otherwise, 4-5k with usual run down after so many years. Even a rare pristine condition, no more than 8k.

Chassis is already soft when brand new, now the chassis flex A LOT, feels horrible at highway.

Better get a less than 5 years old used Saga.

If below 30k, you can only get pre-kodo design...it is ok, but already dated.

if you willing to explore alternative, I suggest D seg- Accord.

another alternative is subaru xv, but that's not sedan.

The 2019 Proton Persona facelift has just been launched here at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, nearly two months after Proton released the first set of official photos. As before, four variants are on offer, starting with the Standard MT (RM42,600), Standard CVT (RM44,600), Executive CVT (RM49,600), and Premium CVT (RM54,600). Mind you, prices are lower by RM5,000 compared to the 2016 launch, so there’s that.

According to Proton, there’s approximately 303 changes done to the Persona, so let’s dive straight into it. The exterior revisions are pretty significant – it now features a new sweeping chrome trim up front that spans across the entire width of the car. Proton calls this the “Ethereal Bow” design, which wraps under the grille. Of course, the new grille also features the familiar “Infinite Weave” pattern we first saw on the X70 SUV.

The headlights are carried over from before, but only the Executive and Premium models get LED daytime running lights (in place of the fog lamps). Follow-me-home lights are also available on the two, however the latter is the only one to get auto headlamps. Further down, the lower grille appears slimmer, with larger air intakes. A slim gloss black strip ties it all nicely together.

2018 October,4 news

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia today celebrated a milestone for its best-selling model, which is also the No.1 model in the B-segment, the City, with the sales of its 300,000th unit here.

The City’s popularity in Malaysia is undeniable.

Honda Malaysia said the second generation City, launched in 2001, sold more than 61,000 units while the third generation City brought the legacy a step higher with more than 85,000 units sold.

The current fourth generation City recorded more than 155,300 units since its launch in 2014.

When the newly-enhanced and refreshed fourth generation City was launched in March 2017, it continued to be well accepted with more than 48,900 units sold till August 2018.

Honda Malaysia said the City contributed 30 per cent to its overall sales from January to August 2018,

and captured 51 per cent of the market share in the B-segment.

During the same period, sales showed an increase of 16 per cent compared to the same period in 2017.

This resulted in Honda Malaysia maintaining its No.1 position in the non-national segment and No.2 in overall total industry volume (TIV) to-date.

Honda Malaysia said throughout the eight months, the

E variant emerged as the top selling City with a sales contribution of 44 per cent while the

V variant contributed 33 per cent.

“We are delighted to mark this milestone of surpassing the 300,000 unit sales for the City within a span of 17 years since it was first introduced in Malaysia. This has proven the success of the City in Malaysia,” Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Toichi Ishiyama said in a statement.

“The fourth generation City is the best-selling model in Honda and the model continues to lead in the B-segment. This outstanding record achievement would not have been possible without the support from our customers.

“I would like to extend our sincere appreciation and thankfulness to Malaysians for their support and belief in our brand, and for making City their vehicle of choice,” Ishiyama added.

Do you know why the 2012 Toyota Prius 1.8L is so cheap?

It only costs RM 20,000.

Is the maintenance cost high? Are spare parts unavailable?
*
Spare parts is available, but hybrid parts is not cheap. Just the battery itself even used/2nd hand also need few k to repair, not only that other like AC compressor, absorbers, suspension lower arm items and other wear & tear items also need to consider changing it. I can say you might need to prepare another 20k in case of anything thus why 2nd hand value for hybrid or EV usually is lower.

Mazda 2 is the most worse car in Mazda lineup, very small size and the 6AT gearbox is famous for repair after 100k warranty off. My factory got 2 Mazda 2 owner after warranty finish both also sent their gearbox out to repair/change half-cut gearbox doh.gif . Even Bobby from Aurinz also say better buy Perodua Myvi or Toyata Yaris.

You are still looking? Not sure why you are asking me, but since you asked...

I wouldn't touch a more than 10 year old car.

Given your budget, I would go for a new Bezza or Saga.

But the rear seat of the Toyota Vios is too low for me.

I'm around 180 cm tall, and when I sat in the back before, there was only about 1 cm between my head and the ceiling.

Now I'm sitting in a Hyundai Avante 1.6L (A) hybrid Grab taxi.

The ceiling height is just right for me, and the legroom is also comfortable.

It seems like South Korean car manufacturers design their cars with more space, possibly because the average height in South Korea is taller compared to Japan.
