As I recall, Secure2U was already enabled on M2U app some time back.
Now they have removed it from M2U and put it to MAE.
So ALL Maybank customers are now forced to use MAE.
Who in BNM allowed this to happen? Why was Maybank allowed to "bait and switch" the Secure2U app from M2U to MAE?
It's really troublesome.
The truth is M2U app is using ancient platform and MAE is supposedly modern platform. Maybank has abused the directive from BNM to use app based authorisation to en masse switch its customers from old to new platform.
They must be severely punished for this bullshit.
from back end perspective, it's 2 different app, likely coded by different team, but running on same database.
maybank will wan to force every user to MAE cuz wanna phase out old app, less maintenance work & cost.
for me, moving to a new app is not an issue.
issue is the MAE app feels inferior to M2U.
M2U design is more clean, theme is more easy on the eye. while MAE hav promotional ads/banner, & overall UI design that seems older.
so it feels a bit of a downgrade.
also, M2U app was designed in line with the browser M2U.
UI is similar & giv user a more consistence experience while MAE feels like that weird child that no 1 wanted.
