As I recall, Secure2U was already enabled on M2U app some time back.

Now they have removed it from M2U and put it to MAE.

So ALL Maybank customers are now forced to use MAE.

Who in BNM allowed this to happen? Why was Maybank allowed to "bait and switch" the Secure2U app from M2U to MAE?

It's really troublesome.

The truth is M2U app is using ancient platform and MAE is supposedly modern platform. Maybank has abused the directive from BNM to use app based authorisation to en masse switch its customers from old to new platform.

They must be severely punished for this bullshit.

Did they forfeit the interest for late payment ?

I would have raised hell and go to BNM if they did. I was about two weeks late.

PBB lagi mafan. Got a new phone recently. Yesterday I just realised I didnt switch the secure sign from old phone to new phone. Proceeded to switch. Got this message below. My other banks just imposed cooling period after switching to new phone. PBB takes it a step further.

It’s normal for all banks in MY, hence auto renew definitely fall under board rate instead of promo/campaign rate etc.

from back end perspective, it's 2 different app, likely coded by different team, but running on same database.
maybank will wan to force every user to MAE cuz wanna phase out old app, less maintenance work & cost.

for me, moving to a new app is not an issue.
issue is the MAE app feels inferior to M2U.
M2U design is more clean, theme is more easy on the eye. while MAE hav promotional ads/banner, & overall UI design that seems older.
so it feels a bit of a downgrade.
also, M2U app was designed in line with the browser M2U.
UI is similar & giv user a more consistence experience while MAE feels like that weird child that no 1 wanted.

You can report to Bank Negara here.
https://www.bnm.gov.my/consumer-info/complaints

Just FYI, before Maybank can make the switch of their Secure2U app to the MAE app, they would have had to gotten BNM approval first (takes 21 working days). So yes, BNM has approved it and you can still report it if you want.

scrap it

old phones dont get security updates and are danger to use with bank apps

the bank is doing their responsibility to prevent this

rhb and ocbc app still support android 8

for uob msia they even require android 10 which even higher than their sinkie HQ app's android 8

its nothing to do with bank negara but simply decided by some talking cock project manager (sad excuse for a bank so-called head of security)

Maybank recently revamped the MAE app

Their new layout and interface are too “fancy” and it makes me really turn off using this app

I have no qualms about Maybank upgrading their mobile app. for better security.
The question is, do they need to incorporate e-wallet into the MAE app ???

You don’t have to use the e wallet
