My contract that offered unlimited quota & hotspot (+15 ringgit) about to end.

Any other alternatives?
- Need unlimited
- Using twitch 1080p60fps and youtube videos everyday

What i already checked
- Celcom : RM98, unlimited, 15GB hotspot, speed capped 15mbps
- Maxis : None
- Umobile : RM98, 1000GB quota, shared hotspot, no speed cap

Anything else im missing? Or perhaps i continue the contract and my current Digi Infinite 100 (Unlimited internet + 20GB hotspot)

Digi were good which is why i have this plan for almost 3 years since they introduced the infinite plan, then recently this year it went too slow that i cant play twitch nor youtube like usual. I dont know what caused of it besides the blackout happened few months ago.

Submitted the report through digi helpline, responses were just bots. Now it is playable but not constantly 1080p60fps like i always wanted.

let me tell u what happened. I was like you, using 4G all these while with digi. I said to myself, 4g is good enough for my usage. Then after they rolled out 5G, the 4G "somehow" become like shit. same location indoor same telco, i speedtest with my friend beside, my 4G phone get 0.2mbps, and his 5G get 300-400mbps. I think you can stay back on digi plan, just get a 5G phone. AND, using 4G in a 5G phone can get more bandwidth than a just a 4G phone.

And not to forget, after changing a 5G phone, i need to change my cheapo digi plan to a 5G available plan ( more expensive). Maybe this is the way they earn by making people embark on a 5G plan.

Every mobile data plan has FUP.
So called unlimited data plan not really unlimited if you have extraordinary data usage.

Digi Postpaid 150 is different. The unlimited data + unlimited hotspot is unlimited.

Reason is you need to sign a 12-month contract for this offer.
If no contract, you will only get 145GB data per month.

I am subscribed to this + free 5G booster.

I've checked my data usage and can only max out around 400gb data usage per month which includes streaming, downloading videos and other files - I didn't even bother use my home wifi anymore.

Take note in my area (PJ), Digi 5G speed is 200-300mbps.
This is still LOW because when I step out of my condo just a few blocks away the speed goes up to 900mbps.

Yes, there is an FUP of 1Terabyte per month then Digi Postpaid 150 will throttle to 10mbps.

You will only complain on the FUP if you are 100% sure that you are using more than 1TB of data per month.

Btw, I agree on previous posts - Digi 4G LTE s*cks! Aside from the very low speed (I can only get less than 10mbps - full 4G+ bar), the ping is very high and inconsistent! It's useless when playing MLBB because the ping will change from 30ms to 200ms.

Is it suggestible for me to have 5G devices for maximize output? Because if it is, i might have to change my tablet to a 5G supported kind.

Yes. 5G is a MUST these days because 4G in all telcos are getting slower and slower. They are migrating their resources to 5G hence expect 4G to perform like 3G.

It's because 5G towers are sharing the data bandwidth with 4G

The added more towers but let's say total bandwith for an area is 10Gbps
4G initial will use all 10Gbps but now needs to share with 5G

In 'lionelchia's' case, the slower 4G speed could be because of traffic congestion during peak hours.

Each 4G cell tower has a bandwidth capacity of about 1Gbps to serve a maximum of about 500 active subscribers at any one time = during peak hours in urban areas, each active subscriber can get only 2Mbps, ie 1,000Mbps/500.

My cheap 4G phone plan is presently getting 4.6Mbps in speedtest.

I thought 5G access is only from DNB tower.
4G data is only accessible from respective telco tower.
Maybe I am not as updated as you are.

Yes, I guess so. 4G towers are congested as 99% of users are using 4G data and only 1% as reported are using 5G data.

signal bar dont always translate to speed
low spectrum band 5 8 20 built for coverage not for speed
band 28 still ok because only accessible with manual lock
nowdays have to lock band for the speed
lesson learn from webe, yes, umobile. now all telcos

the tower
urban area with many tower, some small tower are repeater
limited bandwidth, limited coverage and capped speed
parabolik antenna installer secret is aim to the main tower

If I have not mistaken, the mobile phone telco towers signal is to "communicate" with the customers via the mobile phone or gadgets.
Each towers are connected via fiber to communicate with the telco server.
Speed connection from tower to the server via fiber is fixed, say 1Gbps.

If 1000 users are using the same tower at the same time, eg., downloading/streaming, sure the speed will be disappointed, because 1Gbps divided by 1000 users.

With the demise of 3G as instructed by Moo govt, most telco are forced to activate Wifi Calling.
Before that, 4G is for data/surfing and 3G is optimised for making calls.

When 4G is now tasked for calls and data/surfing, sure it will be congested and performance will be cursed.

MaxSHIT was the last telco to activate VoLTE because it will make its 4G performance worsen.
In short, not enough data capacity on its 4G network and that's why its monthly plan always come with lesser data quota compared with other telcos.
