just wondering, is HKD acceptable in Macau for most of their transaction? Do i like need to change Macau dollar ?
*
yup...they accept HKD...
But if you are planning to spend more in macau, i advice you to use macau pataca instead of HKD...

Malaysia use to have Bossini but many many years didn't have edi. As for the cha charn teng, we go there not for the cheap price, but because we want to try local food. Don't want to waste time eat at McD or those fancy restaurants that serve international food. Only the older generations waiters are rude, the ones with young people are much more friendlier. Nothing to do with cheap prices lor, their attitude is like that lor.

I came back from HK liao but chapped lips won't heal so fast ma.
*
are you sure Malaysia don't have Bossini..? sweat.gif where do you live? unsure.gif
At bukit bintang, and one utama got branch.... and when i go to Penang, i've seen Bossini too, inside Queensbay mall...
But not many branch la..

QUOTE(northasian @ Jan 6 2008, 07:25 PM)
cha charn teng culture is like that... no method.. I also said even local customers they also treat us the same way...

then you're so lucky to have try the real winter weather in HK 'coz these days no longer cold la... sad.gif HK will eventually have no winter in the future...

Yep Turbojet is faster and considered more "higher class" than NWF, but of coz you've to pay for these better service la.. For them who booked hotel in the Kowloon side especially in Tsim Sha Tsui, would still suggest to use NWF 'coz it's closer. For me I didn't feel dizzy by NWF, I think it depends on the tidal wave of the ocean on your travel day.

Metropark hotels are ok ar, some airlines use them as layover hotel for stopover passengers too, but there would be a lot of China Mainlanders in the hotel which is quite annoying lor..
You're right, and it costs more money on transportation as well. For short trip like 4 days in addition to departure & arrival in Macau if taking AirAsia, it's not that wise to stay in New Territories side.
Forrest, you should know the whole New Territories is very big, it is the biggest area in the whole HK's map. Not anywhere in NT is close to me.
Thanks jonath~ Summer sale will start from Aug indeed. But this year economy is very good here, so I guess the sale period would be shorten and delayed and the discount rate wouldn't be as crazy as before.

Huh..? I feel this drink tastes like the soya milk sold in M'sia ja wor? Actually not only 7-11, you can buy it anywhere in HK... 7-11, Circle K, Park'n Shop, Welcome supermarket, some Manning & Watson's branches, some bakery shops, some hawker stalls, supermarket of Sogo, Jusco and UNI.... anywhere...  Of coz, the cheapest would be the one sold in supermarkets like Park'n Shop & Welcome.

Right now i'm worried about the excess baggage. Limit is 15kg check in baggage and Air Asia charges  macau $38 per KG!!  I'm sure my group will be shopping alot.

Maybe find a 3rd party company in HK that can send our excess back to Malaysia which is cheaper than air asia per kg charges.
*
my friend... she bought alot of thing, then she abandon some of her stuffs to make more space in her baggage to fill in her new clothes sweat.gif

ic.. you wanna buy miniature models & toys.. yep those stuff can be quite heavy if you bring a lot. Sorry I don't have info on shipping/courier company with cheap rate, maybe you can try contact the local post office to check the price for postage of international parcel.

oh that temple has granted what you've wished for during your last visit?  hmm.gif

1. I am not Bro
2. I am not into DSLR stuff
3. so I don't know which places are good to buy
4. maybe you can try your luck in Sai Yeung Choi Street in Mongkok
5. Thank you.
What kinda buffet you like? As RegentCid said, it depends on your budget. If you're asking real good buffet without a budget, of coz Grand Hyatt Hotel's buffet... about HKD499 per head + 10% service charge. Conrad Hotel's dinner buffet is not bad too, about HKD3xx-4xx per head... Anyway, just pop in any ***** branded hotels, their buffets will not disappoint you for sure, like JW Marriot, Island Shangri-la, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental...etc.

1. Then good luck to you la... smile.gif

2. Yaumatei is just next to Mongkok, actually not much difference. Mongkok is the best 'coz relatively cheaper rate, but equally convenient location.

3. No I also haven't heard about Roasted Meat Street wor... 海味街就聽過... Actually you no need to go to that particular street to eat Roasted Meat la, every fast food restaurant also has and the taste is good enough.

4. Tao Heong is good enough ga la.. Maxim's might be a bit more expensive but not every branch is good, I think. You can't compare HK's Chinese restaurants with M'sian one, no matter taste, price, service, interior...etc. You know what, I can tell the culture of Yum Cha with Dim Sum is almost originated from HK, of coz we are the most professional and traditional. You can try pop in any Chinese restaurants ge, but they may offer worse service even their food is also good and price might be slightly cheaper. Maybe you can try 聯邦大酒樓 (Federal) in Jordan, they are one of the old Cha Lau in HK, taste not bad.

The price I quoted is average price of dim sum in downtown.

A tip for you, if you can read Chinese, buy a local magazine from 7-11, most of them do introduce different gourmet places in HK~ Take a look at this website : http://etw.atnext.com (a local magazine)
nod.gif
Wing Shing should be on Sai Yeung Choi Street... the street parallel to Ladies Street.
你飛過來囉~  whistling.gif
Promotional price should be during the "afternoon tea" period, which is during 2.30 or 3.00pm - 4.30 or 5.00pm.

If eat at the Chinese restaurant just downstairs my home is much cheaper, I and my mum only need to pay HKD4x, hehee...

For best places and local food, I bet you must be able to find some from my post #1 or other forumers' suggestion in this thread.

Macau no comment 'coz I only went there once.

Please read a few pages back there are some posts discussing sale season in HK.

June is summer here, hot for the whole day.

Cheers.

personally do u think it is worth to go to the 2 parks?

thanks
*
5D4N at HK, personally i don't think you have enough time to go through (shopping, eat... etc) HK in this time, if you wanna go to the 2 parks. Each park need nearly a whole day for you to explore, unless you are the "touch n go" type of tourist.

yes, once only after I am a grown-up, totally twice in my whole life if including the one taken by my parents when I was just 2 or 3 years old. Just like Shenzhen, I also been there only once after I am a grown-up, haha~

5D4N is not enough for sure, if including 2 parks. If giving them up, it might be ok to cover most tourists' spots.

So you think you've covered most spots last time? Would you plan to come again? brows.gif

haiya.... sweat.gif 2-3 years old... i'm sure that you forgot that place already lah...

maybe covered 60% of the places only... for sure I will come again in the future, but need to check her availability, she promise bring me go to eat 炖奶de blush.gif

which theme park is better? It's subjective, everyone thinks differently, so ask yourself and your family members what are they looking for.
I went to Ocean Park only, last year.

For shopping details please see page 1 and find those suitable for you 'coz I don't even know you are guy or gal, and you don't tell me what you wanna buy, how can I suggest??

As forrest said below, which park is better is very subjective to individual. Different gender, different age group, different type of tourists have different interest. We really can't tell which option is better for you 'coz only yourself know what you want and need.
Oh you're going for trip next week ar? This one I don't know.. I was asking about your year-end trip... tongue.gif
*
yup... told you before unsure.gif
I think I will only decide on October for my year-end-trip, we have the travel fair on that time too. Got interest places in my mind already, but can't decide when to go by now.
