1) May I know how to remove the bottom pedestal of this sink? Coz need to clear the bottle trap as well as tighten the water tap

2) May I know what's the purpose of the part circled in red? Any maintenance needed? e.g. need to open it for washing from time to time?

Thanks

i have no idea at all without looking at it physically and feel what its like for number 1, looks like those useless sinks that prioritize cosmetics over functionality.

number 2, it maybe a mesh filter to supposedly filter out impurities, but if your house has debris/ impurities in the pipelines that big, the plumbing is screwed, thats the inlet to refill your toilet tank after the flush, i don't think you need to do anything but do monitor if the water pressure gets low means you need to open it up to clean

update, come to think of it, maybe number 2 is an adapter to connect between the toilet tank and the water pipe

ya kinda agree on the design of the basin. looks like i need to remove the basin first in order to access to the bottom part of it doh.gif doh.gif

never expected johnson suisse to come out with this design, unless there are some special tricks to remove the pedestal part without need to remove the basin hmm.gif hmm.gif
