How come MO with no experience can perform caesarean section operation? That’s really confusing. Which hospital again?

hey, we all in hospital likas (sabah) had to do 10 of those caesarean section as houseman (no experience) with supervision by medical officer, not obstetrician/gynaecologist. i think its the same in any gov hosp that have houseman

so now you say, even mo need pakar to supervise, when all the ho need is mo to supervise?
how la as mo no experience? didnt the mo have already experienced housemanship?

Lol. O&G MO mostly already certified to perform csec la. Even newly graduated mo once posted in o&g department also will be supervised by someone with more experiences first then they will be allowed to perform csec by themselves. And heck sometimes registrar or senior mo in o&g if there is intra op complication will call specialist/consultant to intervene. This case mostly mo with no experience or less experience to perform csec.

How come MO have no experience perform caesarean section operation?
isnt it a qualification to be able to do caesarean section during housemanship?

During housemanship, you only need to assist the surgeon or in certain hospital in sabah/sarawak, ho can do csec but with supervision by experience medical officer. How come mo need experience to perform caesarean section in the first place? Do you think 4 months in o&g rotation is enough to do csec? In certain hospital, 3rd years o&g mo only can perform csec without supervisor.

It’s not about wheter private or gov better but their competency. My fellow colleague also a mo gave birth via caesar at private hospital, got complication during the op. Baby sent to gov but sadly passed away. She saman the private and won.
