If car still has an unsettled loan, you can opt to sell yourself if you have the cash to settle the loan. If not, then better opt for used car dealer. Also a lot of running around going to remove windows tinting for windscreen and driver side before going to Puspakom for inspection. Then pass all the documents to JPJ to do thumbprint and transfer.

Selling yourself get higher price, BUT you will get lots of calls from lowballers and window-shoppers wasting your time and ruining your mood.

Easier to just pass the car to used car dealer and let them settle everything. Just have some good negotiation skills and do homework to get better pricing.

Yes, no need to remove if confident paas 50% VLT for front sides  window as per Puspakom machine reading. Those sold online portable VLT reader is reading 6 ~ 8% higher than Puspakom, i.e Puspakom reading is very stringent.

Rather than going 2 rounds (if failed), most will remove it. A dirty window will also affect reading.

Puspakom normally will just fail you as soon as they see still got windows tinting. Once fail, you tear your tinting on the spot also they won't layan you unless you book next available inspection session.
So just remove it before inspection for a peace of mind. Unless your cable kuat and know the inspection guy.

if your confident in the:
installation of the tint
quality & accuracy of the tint
accuracy of the device used to measure
competency of the user in conducting the measurement
spending more time & money to repeat the process

may retain windscreen & front door tint and power through the puspakom inspection

Once I challenged my tinting guy since they claim their tinting is 100% JPJ compliant, if kena saman, bring them the saman and they will settle.
Then I asked since JPJ can pass, Puspakom should be OK also. They told me, Puspakom more strict, they offer to remove tinting for free when I sell my car next time.
Cos chances of failed inspection very high if got tinting, waste time and money only just to proof your tinting can pass Puspakom.
Nowadays also got shops offering 'bare windows rental'. Bring to shop, they swap the glass, you bring to Puspakom/JPJ. Once approved and get inspection report, bring back to reinstall your windows with tinting.

Isn't swapping car windows WORSE than removing tinting? That's like literally removing and attaching windows?

If tinted using expensive film, redo will cost like RM700-800 but swapping windows cost RM120, why not?
