imei locked. unless ur x50 5g can change imei then normal sim (non 'broadband') wouldn't work. I'm in dilemma between x50 5g & olax g5018 last 7.7 sale. glad I go with olax bec it's modified router, any sim will work & wouldn't deduct the hostpot quota. olax can change imei to ur liking within 2 seconds. for tp link, I've browse thru all the forums & no plan to enable imei modification at all, so u will stuck with that router imei & can't change it to phone imei.

So, what plan are you using with your phone modified imei?

I think it is comparable in terms of speed and stability; they are using the same tower for my area. However, I noticed the only difference is UM doesn't cap speed for YouTube during peak hours, while XOX 1X-22 caps speed for YT, and the maximum I can watch is only 1080p. However, after past midnight, I can continue watching above 1080p until evening. I would say this is pretty annoying considering I watch a lot of YT videos at night. However, I'm only using an iPad, so I think I still can live with 1080p at certain hours, considering it is RM 72 (with SST) vs RM 22, the trade-off isn't that bad though I wish it never happened.

Oh ya, IG reels during those hours are not so smooth too... So... smile.gif If you want to replace UM 5G with XOX, I guess better not since it is 1TB vs 100GB. For my case, it is just a spare broadband and only use it once a while, that's fine.

which modem do you use with XOX? a Mod type?

I am planning to terminate my unifi when the contract expires and switch to Umobile.
Many people here recommend to switch off the wifi in 5G modem and use another router as AP.
I want to know if old unifi router can be repurposed for this or is the router locked to unifi modem only?
