I have manage to built my own iptv app using ott player with playlist from searching the internet and installed on my smart tv

Many TV box which usually work fine for a year or 2 then MIA. Further the iptv that come from the box is nothing better than
those you can find from the internet.

Now with smart tv and ott player being available in most tv including pc and mac work wonder.

I am not sure my iptv will last how long but i am already enjoying all those channels of my choice.

I try Kodi before the configuration is a little too technical and kodi is very heavy

A lot of maybes and very ambiguous.

TS went through a process over at least 2 years to do the IPTV thingy but doesn't show any pics, etc, just wanted to know the purpose of the thread.

The last time i introduce ott player to built your own iptv, which have a few interested and successfully implement their own iptv using m3u playlist.

However, we have found out the m3u playlist is not as stable and often pause after a few minutes.

I then explore another iptv player which uses another playlist format ie. TXT format. What is good is that these TXT format playlist can put a number of same channels from different source.
Therefore, if one source is down it will search for the next source and so on. Further, they not only play m3u format they too play p2p as well as mitv format which is a more stable format.

Yes, a tv box is almost the same as a smart phone.
Yes, you can use universal remote control or even your other android phone to control your old phone.

To use an old smart phone to act as a tv box, there are 2 way
1. is cast the phone to your tv provide your tv has mirror feature. This method is a little technical because every time you want to use need to set the casting.
2. The other casting method is using usb to TV. There are usb cable to cast from your old hand phone to the tv. This method all you need is on the tv on the old phone which you could
leave it as it is without much effort.
However, unlike tv box which is built for such purpose and power directly which don't carried a battery, unlike old hand phone which does have a battery the old phone get heated up much faster.
Which mean your old hand phone life will be shorten faster and watch out not to over heat the phone.

As for software loading and apk, it does not matter too much between tv box and hand phone.

I have try it before, but i think with the cost of tv box or device which is so inexpensive, it is better you get a device specially built for such purpose.

A google chrome cast old version cost around $50 Sing dollar. A 4K version cost about $70

My suggestion is you get a device and the old hand phone use as a security device where you factory reset and installed your banking app and secure app and keep offline.
While your everyday phone can use as you like without the fear of being scam.
The old phone can then be online when need to use banking app and then set back to offline.

I use to have couple of TVboxes and even HImedia Q10p, unfortunately I travel alot and keeping the box up and running for my old folks, its really tiring.

Then I switched to PC and use Kodi, it was fine at the beginning, then it was kinda hard to maintain just due to time spent and constant complain from old folks.

Then I created a html webpage and host all the URLs there so the old folks could just click on the links to watch their shows! ahaha

I have my Lenovo PC connected to an amp to TV via HDMI.

Now i build another iptv which is much stable and good but it can only be installed on Android or google TV and TV box. it is not recommended to be installed on hand phone device.

This is not a m3u format playlist it is actually a txt playlist
But txt have a lloading limit, however m3u extension can load any size of the playlist that why the ext is m3u
In any case the link uses a mixture of .ts .m3u p2p:// mitv:// and some playlist uses deviceid: link format
which most iptv player dont support.

So sorry other player dont work.

ah yes now you mentioned it i realized it's txt playlist which you mentioned previously.

I thought about making my own IPTV thing, too. But then I found Nederlandse iptv, and it just seemed easier. It's only 15 euros monthly, or 99 euros for a year. I have over 7,000 channels and movies, more than 30,000 in HD and 4K. I can watch it everywhere, on any device, like my TV or phone.

I did many thing before and never turn back to subscription. The journey is not easy but it paid off.
I started with simple iptv app and using google search for m3u playlist i begin to built a nice set of liabrary for my own use.
Then those m3u string seem to lagged off and stop working after sometime. I brought a ubox and it serve me for some 7 years.
After that the iptv channels seem to be lagging off too.
I then begin to explore iptv extreme, ott navigator, smart iptv and many more. Well, they provide me with some nice channels.
Then i was serving github and try a chinese iptv app and these app far excel those of the mainstream app.
They support txt playlist, the app support p2p, rstp, rmtp, mitv, mac id code, ts as well as m3u.
Since then the world of iptv has been a fun game to me. When i found that it provide you to link it to your own server that open up
to sharing with many of my friends, after i update those playlist.
Today, i am exploring those open source chinese developer tvbox app, which allow multiple vod and iptv channels all within a single app and switching
between different channels is a brief and the best part is it can be sideload into my smart tv.


There is no turning back to tv box any more. DIY is the answer.

no it dont work in Windows
windows iptv app usually run m3u, ts and mp3 and mp4 codec code.
In windows you can use stbenu app and it playlist.
This app is built by chinese developer which run m3u, ts, p2p, rstp rsmp mp3 mitv and many other code using ijk codec.
For windows you can use this app in emulator like bluestack or x86 os.

Wanted to ask for the given m3u link, is it normal for a channel to stop playing halfway and then it buffers and continue again, or sometimes stopped playing at all?

And sometimes the speed drops to 0 and the app just skips to the next channel..

Which app you are using.

For m3u playlist this situation happen quite often. When a server hosting the m3u playlist is not of high quality usually for free hosting or low cost hosting this will happen
the reason is a m3u or ts playlist is like a mp3 or mp4 playlist if it is a one off playlist it will play till the end but for iptv user can watch for hours and as such the
playlist cannot be holding a big files and play the whole file, so to keep on playlist the m3u will play for a buffering file until it end to switch to the next file to continue
it is when the switching time that the loading of buffering occur or the link break and the app when from the m3u playlist is off switch to the next playlist.
it drop to 0 is bec the loading take too long and time up and the app switch.

if it is the server fault there is nothing much you can do except to allow bigger buffer space for capturing the next playlist or to use different codec if your app allow.

I am using a free server to host my playlist link too, however i am using chinese app which use high level codec which play many type of codec and support many type of
playlist such as p2p, mitv. rstp, rmtp as well as m3u and ts files and the playlist is written in txt format not m3u format. txt format load faster.

I receive many playlist type to extract those link from telegram group, some are m3u playlist and i need to convert to txt format, some json format and some from mag code (stalker portal - you are unable to read playlink for stalker portal link because it is lock by the mac id without using special tools)
With all those link and will collate it into my own m3u ( actually txt format) and use it in my own DIY player which i can only say is decently good.

Noted on the issue, as I initially thought got problem with the TV stick or the Internet connection..

For those who follow this thread, i have introduce iptv extreme, ott navigator, ott player and then i turn to chinese DIYP and TV and TVbox app
and test out the various and play with those iptv and know their pro and con.

Today, i have found another iptv which should be of special interest for those that have m3u playlist but find them lagging when stream.

no it dont but i can make it work by converting the txt playlist into m3u playlist, however some of the playlist link dont work

In any case, the trick in this app is the builtin proxy server which help you to buffer the stream and make it smoother, which is
good, but over the last few days, i have test it out and it is good on most days but when there are live game when many users using the iptvproxy

The first thing to do is installed the app into your tv.

Signup for an account

If you have a m3u playlist in your drive just setup the iptv link to the file

if not the m3u from a link just setup and point to the link

or if you want to share the m3u load it to a server can be free server and point the link to the server
and anyone that have that link can use the same playlist.

Once that is done you are ready to stream those channels in the playlist
