Hi guys, just want to ask if anyone installed this type of roofing before? What's your comments on it compared to tile roofs?


According to some, these type of roofs tend to have less chance of leakage as it is 1 big piece custom made for our specific house roof at the factory. Compared to tiles which are laid on top of each other with risk of leakage


Also, any comments on heat resistance and noise?

I am currently renovating my hse and my architect recommended metal deck roofing. I was initially very hesitant as I am a very light sleeper and cant sleep with the slightest noise.

I checked around and this seems to be the way to go these days. Anyway, the roof has been installed. Waited for weeks for rain since it has been crazy hot.

Last week when it rained, I rushed to the house. I can say that it is about the same as roof tiles noise wise. My plaster ceiling is not done yet so what I heard is direct against the deck. But I must say this. Coz I kept raising my concerns on noise, my architect suggested an additional rock wool insulation layer which I suspect helps quite a bit.

Hope this helps you guys in deciding.

Oh ya, the other thing which made me lean towards metal deck is safety. Heard a lot of break ins through the roof where the burglars just remove the roof tiles to gain access. This one, they will need to remove the entire deck or cut a hole through the roof!

How's the heat insulation?
Will adding layer of insulation sheet reduce heat?

Look for those with 3 layers - Top metal deck, middle foam layer and base metal deck. No need for additional layer of rock wool. Without the 3rd base deck, the foam will detach from the top deck over time.
