I just done A2 exam. I wanted to get into those big name overseas uni, but all of them require previous year apply, then next year aug/sep intake. Last year I was lazy n stupid, didn't bother applying anything. Now if I apply overseas uni will have to intake next year sep. Too much time wasted. I don't want to waste time. Now can do what? I think I will probably get good A2 score, AS I got 4A. So getting into smaller name uni probably is not a problem. But then if I settle with smaller name uni, feels like I wasted effort. Now do what?

A2 as in English exam and you have 4 AS levels? Your title is A Levels, am I missing some understanding here? Sorry, want to understand how the exam works now.

TS took A levels (Equivalent to Form 6)
- He took 4 subjects. (Normal requirement is 3 subjects)
- He predicted his score for each subject is around 81-90.

A level is devided into 2 stages .......AS & A2 . The aggregate of these 2 results will be the final result . AS is done on the 1 st yeaar whereas A2 in the second .

A-Levels [Overall] = AS [Basic] + A2 [Advanced]

In an 18 month program in Malaysia,

First 9 months prepare for AS exams.
Then during 12/13th Month sit for AS exams.
This will be either May/June or Oct/Nov.

Then if nothing to do you will apply for UCAS with your AS results for next UK Sept intake

Then 10th month onwards learn A2 content.
During 18th Month sit for A2 exams.
This will be either May/June or Oct/Nov after you sat AS.

Otherwise, you sit AS+A2 together after 18 months, either May/June or Oct/Nov.

Sure can? Because even UM ranking is not very high, and I want take physics or mathematics, both those subject UM 200 something ranking. Then shitty teacher make shitty student, how can enter into big name uni?

IDK how it works lah, if I enter local uni this year, then transfer to overseas uni next year September, need to do their full course or just need to do whatever I have not yet done local?

But then if apply at same time, need to apply as transfer or apply as new student?

why not ask your school's higher learning advisor ? don't understand how you could miss the application process, wouldn't your classmates/friends be talking about it ?

also you didn't mention which country but with sept intake I'm assuming UK. You can still apply via UCAS Clearing but unlikely to get a offer from top tier uni.

some options are

1.take a gap year (apply for relevant internships if you are really into productivity)

2.take relevant SAT / UEC / IB to apply to US / China / Europe since you mentioned a undergrad in maths or physics. some of the best courses are over there too

Anyhow, the SPM Malay, you just need a C not that hard.
Then start learning basics... laugh.gif
Otherwise, you need to check with them, can replace it with MPU Bahasa Malaysia.
Apply first, talk later. You have 3-4 years to graduate with SPM BM/Sejarah + MUET.

I still find it funny sendiri Orang Malaysia tindaskan Orang Malaysia.
Didn't force Foreigners take SPM Malay also laugh.gif

SPM Bahasa Malaysia / Sejarah / Mathematics is offered 2 times a years like IGCSE/A-Levels.
Previous schedule was June-July (Resits for the 3 listed subjects), and Oct-Nov / Nov-Dec ( SPM ).

Have a talk with UM, see what they can do for you, or tutup mata, ignore for awhile until you get your SPM grades.
Technically, once you go in, they normally won't bother you until 3-4 years down the road nearing graduation, and ask for these results.

I think now SPM BM should be ok la can pass, you can start learning to speak BM,
atleast won't get questioned by Gov Staff, you meng cha cha, blur sotong.

I personally hated BM/BC, I like you, nearly failed BM/BC in UPSR. Then move onto SMK.
Tried my best to pass, and gotten a C in BM and B in BC. laugh.gif

I think times have changed, I think BM SPM should be easier to score now.

I don't see taking a year out as time wasted. Top Universities sometimes do ask their selected candidate to come back next year, and go get some work experience or travel experience. It will help you in your studies.

With scoring A is your sciences, you should take a year to explore while applying for scholarships for 2024 entry.

On the side note, Australian Universities usually do have 2 intakes, the Jan/Feb being the main intake.

Use the gap year and find part-time job. Working allows you to gain invaluable experiences?

I studied STPM and had a gap year to fill before going to uni and I spent that gap year working many jobs. Never once had I regretted that decision.

What kind of job u worked?
Actually before I asked this I considered working as tuition teacher teaching addmath or something, since is somewhat relevant to what I want to study, but got told by parents to go study in local uni for 1 year then transfer
