In the 90s, Jap companies engineered strong engines using cast iron blocks and basic fuel injection systems. Such stock engines can withstand up to 500-600hp easily with modern standalone ECUs.
Engines such as the 4G63-T, 2JZ, RB26, SR20, B6 and B16 all legendary.
Nowadays, everything is made from aluminum, 3 cylinders, a soft turbo, many pesky electronics, and unreliable sensors.
Japanese cars were sold not only on the basis of quality but the sheer amount of joy it gives u. They were so fun to drive . The days of the Evos and Subarus, Supra, GTR and who could ever forget the legendary Mitsu Airtrek Turbo.
Only BMW & VW could compete when it comes to the amount of fun u can have in a car. But the bmw and VW were hopelessly unreliable whereas the Japanese were rock solid
and why airtrek turbo is a legendary car? care to explain?
yeah I know that. other that that? what's so special about the airtrek? if wanna say special, I think Stagea 1st gen is much more special, at least using raw RB26DETT compared to the detuned 4G63T on airtrek
