In the 90s, Jap companies engineered strong engines using cast iron blocks and basic fuel injection systems. Such stock engines can withstand up to 500-600hp easily with modern standalone ECUs.

Engines such as the 4G63-T, 2JZ, RB26, SR20, B6 and B16 all legendary.

Nowadays, everything is made from aluminum, 3 cylinders, a soft turbo, many pesky electronics, and unreliable sensors.

That's when all the tech advancement peaks, things like AYC, ATTESA-ETS, HICAS, AWC, to name a few and these things generally works even after many years due to it being mostly mechanical.

If there's EMP attack or effects, probably the old diesel land cruiser with lesser electronics will be the survivor that still can ignite engine. tongue.gif
