most likely wont be officially sold here sweat.gif
last time the nearest global set was in AU

but still can get CN set and my previous experience u can use play services on top of the CN Rom or you can try flash a global rom (a bit hassle) whistling.gif

looking at the price for grey import will be plus another RM 400-500 on top sweat.gif

Correct and best part is that Razr 40 Ultra is the official name for both Europe, UK and China market, meaning we can flash global ROM easier to China set

Biggest wins imo for Motorola is CHARGER and Charging Cable Included in Box and of course the new design allows for certified dust resistance, and that no dust able to enter inner display when shut.

The next Z Flip better take notes, and the foldable market finally has some meaningful competition in durability.

Yes china price is tempting... And moto has been doing the teardrop one since razr2022
I have seen scalper selling the new RAZR for a whopping 1000 more but just wait a bit more price will come down eventually 😉
As for z flip 5 most likely it will retain the design as previous one 😅

Sad that this time no charger in box as previous one include a 30w fast charger

2023 Moto Razr 40 Series DOES HAVE the charger in box. That's why I said that Samsung foldables will finally have better competition in terms of durability and overall package.

The 40 Ultra looks really good. Would love to try it out if Motorola brings it in.

The price of CN sets is very tempting. brows.gif

But better becareful with Chinese sets though. Oneplus 11 CN sets cannot be directly flashed to global rom like last time. Manufacturers now have ways to prevent Chinese set from being flashed to global roms. It still can be done though but not worth the hassle.

I wonder if the screen will last after multiple open and close. I'm still abit sceptical about whether the screen can withstand so many opens and closes as Im a heavy user. I mean it's still quite a new tech no?

If your drop it yourself and then break the screen then its your own fault. Im asking if open and closing it freqently will damage the screen in the long term.

Michael Fisher's long term review says open and closing frequently did not damage Razr internal folding screen long term.

In fact, he notes that external cover screen is more fragile than internal folding screen.

Thanks. I hope there is a nice cover for the phone then. To use it naked would be best but also riskiest because you would definitely crack the screen if you were to drop it.

Looks like there is... but its a TPU film only. Protect from scratches yes, but not for drops and falls.

From this unboxing video, Moto Razr 40 Series comes with protective external silicon clear cases in the box, to protect external screen a bit more

That alone shows that Motorola giving first time foldable users confidence in durability and long term use compared to Samsung foldables where casing and charger is sold separately.
