Haha... last week this thread very quiet...
All ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ players kelong so early..
Who want go see the finals leh...๐Ÿ˜†

I got the tickets from Petronas staff. Hope next year they'll continue to sponsor and I'll try to get more tickets..

Actually if you hang around outside the Arena, the security may allow you in to watch for free... hehe..

I saw many who got in,  didn't wear wrist bands. ๐Ÿ˜…
Today's India Open๐Ÿธ matches... nothing to watch yet..
Maybe wrong timing, not 9am.......

I read again.... maybe they start at 11.30am? So confusing..

Pearly playing๐Ÿธ today... wanna watch her ๐Ÿ˜„
Not so soon.... late evening...
*

China's Jia Yi Fan reduced her performance 20% ๐Ÿคฃ
She injured her ankle the day before when she slipped and fell on the court during a match.

Best chance for our girls to win that chinese pair. And they did ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ‘

Today, Pearly Thinaah will play Match#1. At 6pm. Hope they can reduce their errors ๐Ÿ˜…. Good luck! ๐Ÿ‘

Fikri and his teammmate played really well yesterday...They neutralized the top pair from India without lifting the shuttle all the time...Their drive and placement very strategic...Lets see how Aaron/Soh played today...

I always enjoyed watching Indonesians MD. This Fikri/Maulana pair is good. Aaron Wooi Yik only have to reduce their errors ๐Ÿ˜‘  then they'll be good too. Hope they are used to UK timing by now. It's not easy having to play at an ungodly hour Msia time.

That Indian pair tall and strong,  very scary. They're like 2 tigers waiting at the net to kill.... luckily our boys don't have to face them. ๐Ÿ˜…
*
Msian pairs in general love the lift the shuttle all the time, and they end up putting themselves on the backfoot...

Play smart and they will win....

Yes!!! Our MD made it to the SF ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ’ช
Beating the Indonesians
21-14, 21-11
Aaron in his top form. Hope it continues today haha. ๐Ÿ™

So sad LZJ lost in rubber set 19-21.๐Ÿ˜ญ
Axelsen also in the same boat, same ending score. ๐Ÿ˜จ
Hope to see them again next week in Swiss Open.
*
Happy to see MD playing on Sat. Aaron was aggressive in front of the net. Also less liftingโ€ฆ

Their path is quite clear to win it as the Indian top pair is out.

See them in the finals on Sunday, facing either Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต or Fajar Alfian/Rian Ardianto ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ.

Fajar and co is fast n furious. Quick with drive. Hard for Aaron to outsmart them with drive. So will Aaron and co resort to lift ? Heheehhe.. very interesting gameโ€ฆ Lets see how Rexy plan the game

Feels like thereโ€™s no favorites for Olympics Gold medal this year. Anyone can be defeated by the in form players. Axelson and ASY are all out in All England. Double players too. World #1 is out also. Maybe they all are exhausted by France Open.
*
I feel that the competition for mens singles are wide open.. no clear favourite..Anyone in the Top 8 can win depending on draw, injury and etcโ€ฆASYโ€™s case I oso tak faham. Shes injured already n yet play so many tournaments.. Whats her coach thinking ? Olympic gold medal more important lar.. If shes healthy sheโ€™s unbeatable at Paris..

First set a few unforced errors .. in front of net especially within the first 11 points .. That destroyed their momentum..

Watched the LJH game just now...A lot of things didnt went right for him...Almost all his lifts to the backcourt end up haywire....Net play not tight enough....and not enough variety as most of the shots end up at one side of the court...Hopefully he will improve as he participate in more tournaments ...

Yes!!! I'm glad he won. Not easy to beat Antonsen. ๐Ÿ‘Š
I really believe the chanting and cheers from fans in the arena did help. Glad he didn't give up easily.

After playing for 83 minutes, his legs cramped. Needed to visit medic immediately.

Goh Soon Huat also injured during his match. Had wrist and hip pain. Hope he has enough time to rest.

A bit disappointed with Aaron Wooi Yik. Leading 12-5 in rubber set also lost.

Best news was Roy King and Arif won. I think they were trailing 5-11 then won 21 -18. ๐Ÿซก

Wish all our semi finalists best of luck. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ™
Today's matches will start at 1pm.

Earliest for ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ, match#2 on Court 2. XD
Other matches all on court 1 on astro...
Match#8 ๐Ÿ— vs ๐Ÿฅฉ . ๐Ÿคฃ

Wish more than 1 in the finals tomorrow. ๐Ÿฅณ

Most top players in contention for Olympic gold medal will normally avoid playing too regular when Olympic is very closed .. Look at Lin Dan and Chen Long .. They will disappear from international circuit 1 - 2 months before Olympicโ€ฆ. mainly to avoid injury and focus on conditioning ..

For China, they can train among themselves. They have world best players with them.

For Zii Jia, he's the best single in Malaysia. I think he is better off to train with players who are better than him.
He has been to Dubai and Korea for short term training. For long term, it'll be very expensive.

He intends to play 5 tournaments before Olympics.  Done with Thai Open, 4 more to go. I believe he needs competitive matches to improve his games. Win or lose, it is a process. I don't think he can win all these tournaments back- to- back.  He is always trying his best.

Injuries can be from training. For example Tze Yong, according to Misbun, he thinks Tze Yong got injured from improper training programs. I'm not sure what exactly he meant.

I just hope all our players will be in their best shape to prepare for Olympics.
*
For Olympics u dont need long term training base .. just 3 to 4 months to condition yrself before Olympics ..also no point winning all the Open titles before Olympics ..It doesnt mean anything as u be exposing yr game plan and weaknesses to yr opponent who will be studying your game ..

wow... surprised that they beat them. yesterday match not very convincing.

They were on fire...Chen's smash was very sharp from the baseline....

Its a good win, give them more confidence ..but doesnt mean they will win any medal yet....

China no 1 pair is still unbeatable...

Congrats Fei Din .. may this boost yr confidence for the next big thing.. I believed if u continue improving u will be doing well over the nxt 24 months .. add more variation to yr play, minimize lifting and may success come to yr way..

This LJH challenged until no more challenges, called for magic spray, insisted to wipe wipe floor....padahal he wanted to rest a bit ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Down from 10 - 17, he managed to win 24 -22. ๐Ÿซก

He can't use same trick tomorrow...hehe

Wish him all the best of luck.... hope he can recover in time...

Finals start at 10am ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ time.
JH match #4

Jonathan Christie actually controlled the backcourt very well even though he lost...LJH should analyze this and pick up a few pointers from there...
