QUOTE(Mel2 @ Nov 22 2024, 01:55 PM) Fantastic match. ChenToh made history in badminton. What a come back!! π 2nd set : 1 - 11 at interval Then 11 - 20 Opponents had 9 match points. Ee Wei saved 10. π₯³πͺ If TJ served, sure kelong already π€£ Then they won 23 - 21 Amazing!!! 3rd set was so tensed. Glad they won it. π Their win overshadowed our 2nd pair... Happy to see another XD pair won. ππ₯³ The other QF matches will be in evening session. Start at 5pm. Good luck to all πͺ That comeback is really insane...but Chen/Toh is playing with more variety nowadays...Chen used to smash very hard from the backcourt but nowadays hes mixing drop and smash....Toh has also improved her frontcourt presence....They are also always talking to each other... Overall this pair has improved a lot over the past 12 months...They are moving in the right direction Next year is WC...They should sit down with their coach and strategize to see if they have a chance to win a medal during the WC.

QUOTE(kevinc @ May 25 2025, 06:43 PM) henri really trained them well like minions. tee was so quick in front court like sanjaya. well done to this future malaysian no.1 pair If the players developed well as expected, we are in the golden age of mens double...The team can now even surpass the golden 90s when we hv 2 strong combos, Razif/Jalani and Cheah SK/Soo BK. In the next 12 - 18 months, we can expect to have at least 2/3 pairs playing every Saturday if they can play consistently.... This post has been edited by LDP: May 26 2025, 01:53 PM

Congrats Aaron/Soh...Stay healthy as the WC is coming soon this year...It is so heartening to see them fighting hard for every single point throughout the match....Aaron is always there encouraging his teammate while Soh is definitely calmer nowadays...I can even see Aaron smiling even when they lost a point...They are also listening and interacting with their coach all the time...Lets go and win something big over the next 12 - 18 months...

Watched Chen/Toh played today against the Danish pair...In terms of performance, the Danish were much better pair in the first and second set. They were mixing up their shots way much better than the Msian pair. Anyhow Chen/Toh performed much better than their opponent in the final set.

Good luck Pearly/Thinaah tmrw....It will be an uphill battle knowing yr opponents are super dominant...Cut down the unforced errors especially during the early parts of your match or else u might get steamroll tomorrow...Quite a number of unforced errors today during the first set like erratic serve and lift to the baseline...All the best tmrw...

QUOTE(kevinc @ Jun 8 2025, 05:42 AM) coached by hendrawan. my idol π Hendrawan just coached them recently. The pair had been playing such style quite sometime ago. Quite refreshing.. Very little lift, more towards drive plus flick serve. Their 3rd and 4th shuttle always cross court creating havoc.

QUOTE(Mel2 @ Jun 8 2025, 08:58 AM) Sunday Finals. Start at 1pm π²πΎ time Our last pair left.. Facing #1 π¨π³ WD pair is very, very challenging. π
π
Seeing how ManTee kena boo yesterday, how unfair the umpire (no touch, say touch but no review) π©, be brave, girls, just go all out to win the title. πͺ Whatever happens, happens. Pearly and Thinaah already made history being the first π²πΎ WD in #BWFWorldTour Super 1000 event. β€οΈ Crowd wont be booing Pearly today as their opponents is not from Indon.

Looking at the matches yesterday Aaron Soh will look back and be disappointed with their performance. The first 11 points in the first set was totally one sided. Their second and third shot was below par ..
Man/Tee put up a spirited fight .. their back court was totally exposed during the last 7 or 8 points in the third set. But it was a good fight especially when yr opponent is no 1 in the world.

QUOTE(Mel2 @ Sep 2 2025, 09:46 AM) Pearly Thinaah created history too. β¨οΈβ¨οΈ First π²πΎ WD to reach the final of World Championship ππ They really fought very hard, and yet not enough to grab the title. WR2 lost to WR1. Not that bad lah.. haha.. Congrats to them. β€οΈ Being one of the best pairs in the world is already a big achievement. πͺ Glad to see that there is diversity here, rather than just one country dominating it all....There are CHN, JPN, MY in the picture... I hope Pearly Thinaah will continue to evolve their game, maybe add some jumping smash here and there to make their game more deadly
