receipt is after payment done wor, what about any document before pay? technically they can run after taking booking fee without giving u a receipt no?

did you ask the agent about it? i wouldn't trust $$$ without receipt for the exact reason you mentioned. even deposit need some B&W as proof of receiving.

thats the thing about receipt, its only provided after. i see some website say provide letter of offer for booking but nobody seems to talk about it much, not even my family members who rented out other places. is this letter not commonly provided before deposit is paid?

as added info, i just checked http://search.lppeh.gov.my/ and found his name there under negotiator... should be trustable hor...

just did a booking for rental. agent asked for 1 month rental & I deposited into his company's account. then he gave a signed booking form with my name, his name & owner's name.

either this is correct or not I don't know.
