Mine now 7 years.
Wifi cannot use anymore, so had to turn off and remove the sd card if want to transfer video tu phone.

Other than that, being a LiOn based dashcam, it still works good for me. Recording to clear and sharp. cool2.gif

Isn't it powered directly from car battery? Why would it die when the internal battery died?

It is partially powered by a small lithium battery eg, when you get in accident and the whole front of the car shear off, car battery and engine gone. Without a battery or supercapacitor... The last 30sexonds to 1 minute of the accident video is not saved properly and most likely corrupted. That or when accident and the engine you shut off even normally, the last 30second every time you shut off need that small battery to complete the saving.

Get the super capacitor version. It is worth it.

Ah, so it acts like a backup battery in case power cut off. Still, it should still function when car engine on right? Just that when you shut down ignition it won't record the last batch footage.

There is a way to do it, I just fxrk up my Yi Dashcam last Friday, tried many method and finally managed to rescue it yesterday. And swapped it to English firmware on the China unit smile.gif

BTW, I use my Yi Dashcam since 2015, company me for 3 cars now. Quite a durable dashcam I must say. However, SDcard had to be changed for 2 times during this period.
