I asked the seller for HDD upgrade and he said only SSD upgrade slot is available. It's on sale right now under Rm4K but no HDD makes me kinda worried. Is SSD only storage reliable?
UPDATE: Okay so now I'm willing to spend a bit more. RM 4.5-5K. The reason is that I learned that the Asus A15 2022 has MUX unlock and better thermal than the 2021, but everywhere I can only find it at least 5600 k. However I also found the latest A15 2023 at RM4999 but it has RTX4050. Upon research I learned that it doesn't perform as good as RTX3060 but at the same time I'll get a better laptop build than the 2021 version. Thoughts?

Using it for gaming only?
SSD is very reliable these days. Not to worry

Lots of laptop nowadays no longer have 2.5" slot Why would you want to use HDD? If you want reliability, just backup your important data lah, don't store it in just 1 place

Im using A15, the main problem is the heat dissipation is not efficient. you cannot get full performance even u have a good CPU/GPU.

I've been primarily usinng hdd all my life. The one I'm buying has Intel® Core™ i5-11400H Processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX3060 GDDR6 6GB. Still I'd be happy to play games just on high settings and not ultra. Nothing is permanent Both SSD & HDD have their pros and cons But I will never pick HDD over SSD as the performance gain is huge. Anyone who says otherwise is just kidding themselves As I've mentioned before, if you're worried about losing your data, backup your important data to multiple places like external SSD/HDD or cloud storage

BTW, mine is Ryzen 4800H with RTX 2060. I have also change the back cover with more ventilation holes. U can find alot of yt videos about A15.

I've seen a couple of videos especially this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqwXd923JbI he gave it a favorable review and his specs is definitely higher than mine and like he pointed out it's a budget choice and it is within my budget. I've done a bit of research, and what I've found is that apparently the iets gt300 cooling pad works well with the A15 This post has been edited by hyperwavedrift: May 20 2023, 11:42 AM

I used FXX506HCB 11400H with RTX 3050 stock thermals were quite bad, depending on what CPU settings, also ASUS locks the BIOS from being able to undervolt the CPU via Throttlestop but even with boost disabled I found the CPU is adequate for 1080p gaming. GPU has no problems undervolting using MSI Afterburner.
I use 16GB of RAM and disable paging file, with that system won't write stuff to SSD if its out of VRAM or RAM to SSD. Buy a reputable brand with cache if you worried. SSD are cheap nowadays just buy the largest you can afford, also don't fill it more than 80-90% by my rule so it can do its stuff (garbage collection, wear leveling etc.)
