I'm currently on 30Mbps but at the same time I do feel like I want a better speed, but the problem is I'm too cheap and I focus too much on less spendings per month, I think if anyone here can convince me that 100Mbps is worth it, I might just switch to it

Lel as a matter of fact im looking for someone to convince me 30mbps is enough for 3 phones/computer + 1 tv usage

Currently on Time 100mbps which is RM99 but soon going to move to landed and 100mbps unishit/maxshit min RM129

Now contemplating should i switch from Time to Unishit 30mbps (free 6 months fee + free upgrade 100mbps for 6 months) at RM89
Or straight hantam 100mbps (free 6 months + free upgrade 300mbps for 6 months) unishit no need worry about 30mbps enough or not.

Alternatively is ask my mom to register new account for warga emas only RM69/month for 30mbps (price revert original after 2 years) but this method no freebies

If u single dog dont bother 100mbps just waste of money

i'm using 30mbps from may 2021 till early this year. just me and my wife using internet. she got 2 phones and 1 ipad, i got 1 phone and 1 galaxy tab and mba and PS5 and smart tv.

30mbps is seriously too slow for me especially when downloading and updating games and uploading videos to cloud like google photos.

now upgraded to 100mbps under maxis. got free 6 months bill so save RM700 plus. on 7th month will need to pay like usual rm129. contract 2 years. if you do the math, it's quite worth it. let me explain.

currently you are using 30mbps at rm89. if you continue to use this package for 2 years, you're paying rm89 x 24 = rm 2136.

If you change ISP and use 100mbps at rm129, you get 6 months no need to pay bill, so only need to pay rm129 for 18 months. rm129 x 18 = rm 2322. now divide 2322 by 24 months (coz of the 2 years contract), you get rm 96.75. so that's your average price for 100mbps for 2 years.

it's like you're paying extra rm7.75 per month for 3 times speed increase. (rm89 vs rm96.75)

Does 30mbps makes Netflix or online streaming laggy?

For uploading its not related to 30mbps becausw upload speed for 30mbps plan is only 10mbps.
Upload speed for 100mbps plan is 50mbps so definitely uploading will be faster.

no, not at all. for streaming netflix, hbo go and youtube in 4k, 30mbps is sufficient. didnt get the chance to stream disney hotstar in 4k coz their app mostly compatible on limited device at 1080p. for example disney hotstar not available on PS4 and PS5 in Malaysia, also my LG TV webOS also dont have the app for it. so i have it on my phone and tablet which is not 4k, also when i stream to my old 2014 11 inch mba, the output to TV is only full hd.

btw yeah i know upload speed for 30mbps package is only 10mbps. i'm just mentioning that by upgrading, you kinda get a lot of extra. so let me rephrase:

by spending extra rm7.75 per month average for 2 years, you're getting 3.33 speed increase for download, and 5 times increase in upload speed. i think its kinda great.

Hmm, I don't know bro... I think the Math is a little off since there's also taxes involve, with TM Unifi I don't pay exactly RM89. I pay RM94.69 monthly, if I were to go with RM129 100Mbps then that means I'll have to pay RM134.69 per month (Regardless of me being in contract or not)

RM134.69 x 24 months is RM3232.56
RM94.69 x 24 months is RM2272.56

Thus I save RM960 per year if I stick to 30Mbps.

30Mbps should be fine with 3 Phones, computers and 1 smart tv, my family was able to watch movies and other things, but of course there are interruption but it's not as severe as people describe it.. The reason why I'm contemplating an upgrade is because 100Mbps could download 100gb game in less than 3 hours, while 30mbps would need around 6-8 hours.

i bolded the part where you are wrong. you only pay RM134.69 for 18 months, coz the other 6 months is totally free. so it will be 2424.42. now do you calculations again.

Yeah, I get that but it's only for 6 months.. After that 6 months ended then my calculation comes into place. They don't actually give you 6 months free after you passed that 6 months. I'm talking about long term commitments, if TM were to constantly give me 6 months free without any form of upgrade after 24 months, I'm cool with it lol.

6 months of not paying 134.69 equals to 808.14 of savings. that's a lot. but i dont understand what you mean by the bolded part ^.



btw forget everything i said. dont upgrade. in the future the internet will definitely be cheaper and that's when you upgrade the speed.

Yours is quite straightforward to count.

My case from Time RM99 to RM129 for the same speed lol

but new offer is rm129 able to get 300mbps + 6 month free billings

got new rm69 30mbps is u are under b40 try / can downgrade if your are applicable.

fiber rarely offer with 100mbps plan price. old price is rm129 for that speed.

if u sign up telco postpaid plan min rm1xx, + using their fiber u might get some offer like celcomdigi fiber. rm75 for 30mbps, rm100 for 100mbps

well ts said my calculation is off just because i didnt include SST lol go figure. i guess you should stop mention 99 and 129 as well coz that isnt the final amount you will be paying you see hahaha ts logic

well that's even better then, good for you. but meh according to ts at the end of the day the savings would be "960 per year" if didnt upgrade at all and just maintain at 30mbps.

30mbps not really fast. but for that price

i'm not using fiber. as <rm100 for that speed. i felt not really worth it. so i stay with mobile internet. cincai2 able to hit 30mbps easily. of coz still depends on your own location. cause some telco tower might be congested then speed will be slow.

Do we get unifi tv account to stream free live channels for rm129 package ? I checked my smart tv got unifi tv app but need unifi tv account and login.

unifi tv not all live channel. can check with tm for the id.

that's down to what you are doing with your internet right?

if you are doing a lot of file transfer then yes 100mbps is minimum and sometime i feel too slow....
but if just idle most of the time except some streaming then 30mbps is good to go so what are you doing with your internet?

Secondly do take note that

30 mbps = RM94.69 --> RM 3.156/mbps
100 mbps = RM134.69 --> RM 1.347/mbps
