Bro Alex, i don't have any problem to go again even on next week..

Now is perfect time to go to Banding as water level dropping 15 to 20 feet (getting ready for rainy season). Therefore, all toman pooled into small area.. In my personal experience, i say i'll prefer Banding compare to AG.. Game was totally different.. We should overnite there, camping somewhere lar..

AG not too good as water dirty with floated garbage, trees, etc and water cloudy.. even worse than previous trip with bro rory, sweet and klmt.. remember? Difficult to get near the fish as they spooked easily but once they bite, i have no chance at all.. just three stripped line and gone.. WUSH....

As per logistic and itenary, we just do it simplest possible..

Boat rental - RM 80.00
Boatman - RM 80.00 (i don't prefer using boatman, with bro rory's gps should be no problem)
Fuel - RM 80.00 (two drums)

Boat size 21 footer - comfortable for 4-5 paxs..
Camping - over there got camping site or we just camp on the small island.. bring 4-men tent but normally people slept outside..

I went with my dad's friend.. otai

Banding Island Resort closed for renovation.. theres another one in middle of the lake but i didn't have contact number.. my dad's friend suggest for camping..

Not de-spooled lar sifoo... his turbo so power.. tried to slower him down with thumb break but no chances at all...

Whoever can land 2 kg toman at AG or Banding using 6Ib line (no cheating), i'll pay for all his cost..

I strongly recommend to use 30Ib and above at Banding with fast tip rod.. otherwise you'll be like me

Bro, that day we were cruising from Kedah at 0500 am and arrived at Grik 0630.. Having breakfast and at port 0730 am. Get ready and get keli, on the boat by 0800 am. That day 3 of us with boatman. Therefore, boatman lead us, drove and even fishing more than me! Camping area near port only or if you dare, you can camp on small island emerged as water running low.. or we can be comfortably sleeping at Grik hotel..

I say the spot about 20 feet deep.. but as water level low, plenty of trees emerges.. quite similar to AG but game here totally different. even boatman admit that if he went to AG, he'll be like fool.. Toman AG - fierce but Toman Banding - feeding.. Get my drift?

Toman in photo caught within sight distance from port only no need to go deep inside.. unless we wanna go after Sebarau..

I strongly suggest that you re-think again.. i'm also in same kind of same shoes also but what the heck! I'll stay until i got another offer..

So far, i only know that bro klmt got pixy for very light cast.. i don't think STX can beat it using very light weight..

It not complicated as AG.. Your GPS and my brain will do..

Similar to AG where theres main river and on both side got lubuk.. just remember to go in and out maa...

Return on next day only took 30 minutes with proton orient.. shouldn't be any problem with GSR, probably 15 minutes only..

Bro rory, you want me to book now? With or without boatman?

I actually wanna go to TF on Saturday so we can discussed further but so far i have 7 open house to show my face from 12 noon until 9 pm.. i actually wanna go for nasi goreng giler only.. not for fishing as i'll be exhausted edi.. but then my tummy also must be fulled also...

Cost breakdown aa?

Boat 21 footer - 4 pax - RM 80.00
Fuel - 2 tank - RM 80.00
Boatman - fishing or not - RM 80.00

Others i think you'll knew edi like traveling expenses from KL, toll etc.

That for rental 1 day.. My dad's friend said, we can pay boatman extra RM 20.00 for staying with us overnite if we camping lor and using his service day time..

Pro and Con of using boatman that fishing with you..

Pro
1. He will bring you to his best lubuk since he also fishing maa - and believed me, he will fish more than you

Con
1. He will land mostly of the fish as he navigated the boat to the best position (for him) - advantage to him as he familiar as well
2. No more dayung dayung slowly to get closer as he always in ready to cast position with his rod - no chances given at all - best person win!

But previously, i didn't see much lubuk also.. he just go in and stop when ever there were some splashes which i think we also can do that.. only need to remember way in and way out again.. thats all. Not many boat operator as well. That boat actually owned by one old man (taiko there) and if we want his boat man services (3 of them), we just ask and pay lar.. Two other non-fishing boatman very lazy and donnow how to position the boat..

We can rent boat without boatman but i don't think sleeping in boat is a good idea.. camping will do or just sleep in car also ok compare to do it on boat.
